Originally from Wenatchee (When-At-Chee), Washington, Tracie grew up with a deep appreciation for the old, vintage, antique, and historic. In her family, DIY home projects were a way of life. She moved to Chicago in 2012.In 2016, Tracie and her partner purchased their first single family home: a Chicago bungalow in the Belmont Cragin (Craig-in) neighborhood.Tracie won a Driehaus (Dree-house) Award from the Chicago Bungalow Association in December 2017 for her historically sympathetic DIY entryway renovation project. This was soon followed by the creation of @mychicagobungalow on Instagram, and mychicagobungalow.com, where she share house projects and connects with other bungalow and historic home owners from Chicago and around the world.In May 2019, she earned two Bachelor degrees in Design from The University of Illinois at Chicago. Her undergraduate thesis project focused on building a collaborative community database for the Chicago bungalow community. Today, Tracie is working to expand her thesis work into a physical environment for education, and continues obsessively researching the history and materials of her bungalow.
