The New Perspective on Paul May 08, 2025

Show notes

In this season finale of Off Stage, Greg, Brittany, and RD tackle the New Perspective on Paul—a theological movement that’s reshaped how many modern Christians understand justification, salvation, and the gospel itself. From its academic roots with E.P. Sanders and N.T. Wright to its downstream influence in the Emergent Church and spiritual formation circles, the team explores where this perspective brings insight, where it muddies the waters, and why gospel clarity still matters. Whether you’ve never heard of the New Perspective or have shelves of N.T. Wright books, this episode will help you spot its influence, weigh its claims, and return to the simple, freeing truth of justification by grace through faith. Plus, they close the season the only way Off Stage can—with hot takes, Christmas chatter, and the eternal debate: is Elf actually good?
