Ep 9 - Brittany Hölljes: "You're A Little Gray Fox Having Coffee in a Little Tweed Hat" Feb 26, 2021
    Show notes

Brittany Holljes, one of the driving forces behind the band Delta Rae stops by the podcast for a deep dive conversation! This one is particularly special to me because Brittany and the other band members of Delta Rae all grew up together! I’m sure our listeners know that Brittany and her band Delta Rae have a massive following, but I bet you didn’t know that we were in an a cappella group when we were kids! Sure, it’s old news that she was listed as one of Rolling Stone’s “women who rock” but did you know that she left high school at the age of 16? Her huge fan base knows that she embodies the spirit of a fierce and fearless lion, but did you know that Brittany has assessed that my spirit animal is that of a tiny gray fox wearing a tweed vest? And did you know that she and Delta Rae are writing a southern gothic musical!?!?!? Well tune the f**k in because in this episode we discuss all of this and a LOT MORE! Don’t forget to rate and subscribe, you sexy buttheads!

Brittany Hölljes is one of the singers and songwriters of the American rock band, Delta Rae. Delta Rae just made headlines for being one of the most funded musical groups on kickstarter of all time thanks to their very dedicated, large, and loud fanbase. They’ve released several studio albums and maintain a huge live following thanks to hit songs such as “Bottom of the River” -follow Brittany on Twitter/Instagram @brittanyhellyes and her band Delta Rae on twitter/instagra @DeltaRae

Ep 8 - Bonnie Milligan: "Supple Awnings" Feb 19, 2021
    Show notes

Bonnie Milligan and I simply don’t trust the Disney character Aladdin. And BOY do we make sure to talk about it. Bonnie, of course, is known for her work on stage in musicals such as Kinky Boots, and Jasper In Deadland, but did you know that she was raised in a doublewide trailer? Bonnie made huge waves on Broadway originating the role of Pamela in the musical Head Over Heels, but I can almost guarantee that you didn’t know that she is an expert sandwich orderer! This was one of my favorite episodes to record because I’ve known and loved Bonnie for a long time and I finally got to sit with her and talk about EVERYTHING from her childhood to her journey to Broadway, Bonnie Milligan is a super star and she is full of surprises! Tune in for one hell of a good time! And don’t forget to rate and subscribe!!!

Bonnie Milligan has been seen Off-Broadway in shows like Jasper in Deadland, on tour with the cast of Kinky Boots, and on Broadway in the fan favorite Head Over Heels. Find out more about Bonnie and everything she has going on! Twitter: @BeltingBonnie and on Instagram @beltingbons

Ep 7 - Justin Guarini: "Do You Still Have a Myspace?" Feb 12, 2021
    Show notes

It’s a scientific fact that Justin Guarini’s voice can get women AND men pregnant. Frankly, I’m sickened by the man’s talent and kindness. I mean it’s no secret that the man became a household name during American Idol’s first season as one of the two finalists alongside Kelly Clarkson, but did you know that his mother was a News reporter!? He has had perpetual success from TV to the Broadway stage and even becoming the long running spokesperson for Diet Dr. Pepper, but did you know that he turned down a chance at Broadway in order to take a chance with American Idol? I bet you all secretly LOVE his cult classic movie From Justin to Kelly, but more importantly, did you know that Justin and I played opposite each other as Roger and Mark in RENT. Well buckle up, kiddos! Because Justin Guarini joined us for this episode and we talk about it all and then some! We overcame tech issues for this one (all thanks to Justin), discussed clutch issues such as myspace, and I even leave in the middle of the episode to take a piss! This episode has EVERYTHING! Don’t forget to subscribe, you beautiful buttheads!

Justin Guarini is singer, actor, entrepreneur, and writer. He is the long running face of Diet Dr. Pepper as his character Lil’ Sweet. He has been seen on TV for 2 decades in shows like American Idol not to mention countless red carpet, and talk show appearances. He has been seen on Broadway starring in shows such as Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, American Idiot, Romeo and Juliet, and several more. It’s like, sure, you were on Broadway right out of the gate in teensy weensy shows like Head Over Heels, and Moulin Rouge, but why is no one talking about you have dreams of one day having a job where she can one day get day-drunk! Also, okay, YES, Amber has established an online ARMY of fans on platforms like TikTok, but did you know that she taught herself how to install FLOORING and became a super queen of DIY interior designer. We are all fully aware, that she has done Hamilton both on Broadway and in the Chicago production, but I bet you could never guess what horrifying nicknames she had when she was a teenager! Ladies and gentleman! Lilli F***ing Cooper is in the house! HOW EXCITING! Sure, it’s a thrill because she’s a Tony nominee for her work in Tootsie the musical on Broadway, but did you know that she loves Dexter’s Laboratory? I’m excited AF she’s here! Sure she played Sandy Squirrel in Spongebob on Broadway, but did you know that she was CYBER BULLIED in middle school??? Jesus! Ep 3 - Colton Ryan: "Try The Veal!" Jan 14, 2021
    Show notes

I get it. Colton Ryan is the next big thing, what with his appearances on Broadway in musicals like Dear Evan Hansen and Girl From the North Country. But can you even comprehend how cool it is that he learned his face moisturizing routine from a TikTok video?? Like, guys, I KNOW Colton is the star of Sara Bareilles’ Apple+ series, Little Voice, buuuut, did you know that Colton knows a shit load about looking for real estate??? Like, I truly am thrilled that he’s done all of this (including playing Connor in the upcoming film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen), but I’m ten times more thrilled that he sat down with me for an hour so he and I could LOSE. OUR. MINDS. This was a fun episode to record because Colton and I could not stop riffing bits. Lets break the internet with this idea: COLTON RYAN SHOULD PLAY JOHNNY LAWRENCE IN THE BROADWAY-BOUND KARATE KID MUSICAL (for which I’m writing the score). Sign those petitions, kiddos! But first, Enjoy this episode!

Ep 2 - Kathryn Gallagher: "So Bob Fosse Called" Jan 14, 2021
    Show notes

It’s pretty clear that Kathryn Gallagher has an amazing start to an amazing career from appearing in the Broadway revival of Spring Awakening to her work on the Netflix thriller You. But did you know that she comes from a long line of artists and bacteriologist (whatever the hell that means!)? We are alllll excited that her work in Jagged Little Pill has earned her both Tony and Grammy nominations, but did you know that her dad Peter Gallagher was full on DISSED by Bob Fosse? I’m thrilled I was able to trick Kathryn into coming onto the podcast to talk about life, what it’s like getting teased in school, letting our freak flags fly, and SO much more. This was an extra joy for me because I have an unrelenting crush on her. Enjoy our little chat!

KATHRYN GALLAGHER has been seen on Broadway in the revival of Spring Awakening, and as Bella in Jagged Little Pill for which she received a Tony nomination. Ep 1 - Alex Brightman: "A House With an Ass On It" Jan 14, 2021
    Show notes

We alllllll love Alex Brightman for the work he’s done in the industry. And yes, we toooootally get that he’s a two-time Tony Nominee for his roles in School of Rock and Beetlejuice on Broadway. But I bet you didn’t know where he grew up, or that his parents had to sit him down for some VERY blunt advice at a young age. Of course we love Alex for his work leading up to his Tony nominations in shows like Matilda and Wicked, but did you know that Alex Brightman and I spent 3 days together traveling cross country by Amtrak?! Like, I KNOW we can’t get enough of Alex’s appearances on TV collaborating with the likes of John Mulaney and Richard Kind, but why don’t we ever talk about his obsession with gambling, or the band he was in in high school?! Thankfully I was able to coax my buddy Brighty onto the podcast so we could deep dive into our friendship, his childhood, his unflappable younger brother Jesse, the ill-fated SitCom(s) we wrote during our formidable years, and MUCH MORE!

Alex Brightman has been seen on Broadway in Glory Days, Wicked, Big Fish, Matilda, and has two Tony nominations for starring as the leads in School of Rock, and Beetlejuice.

As a writer Brightman is currently developing two new musicals with Drew Gasparini entitled The Whipping Boy and It's Kind of a Funny Story (based on the novels of the same name). Brightman made an appearance on Impractical Jokers and In October 2019, it was announced that Brightman will be joining the cast of the Billy Crystal helmed comedy film Here Today.
