Books Your English Teacher is Obsessed With Mar 01, 2021

Show notes

This week, we talk to Celine’s high school English teacher Janine Clements about all the BEST books we read way back when.

We all remember reading the Hunger Games and being obsessed with it! We discuss the insanity that was Lord of the Flies to the deeply moving and compassionate To Kill a Mockingbird.

We touch on just how impactful it was to learn about generational poverty through Grapes of Wrath, and Janine gives us all the secrets about how she picks her books and what her favorites are. She also shares some hilarious classroom stories along the way - what really goes down in the teacher's lounge, how the teachers always know about the students' drama, and soooo much more!

Show notes

It's the cliche of all cliches...."don't judge a book by its cover". From vampires to cursed French women, we're COVERing (haha get it?) books of all shapes, sizes, and genres. Sometimes the books you end up loving the most are the ones you would never be attracted to on the shelf, and sometimes the prettiest of sleeves end up being the most disappointing reads. Tune in to this week's episode to see how these books hold up!
