Ep 107- Hospitality On The Go Sep 22, 2022
    Show notes

When we think of hospitality, we usually think about inviting people into our homes for a meal. While that encompasses much of the ministry of hospitality, there are ways we can serve the Lord in this way FROM our homes, not just IN our homes.

What do I mean by hospitality on-the-go? This encompasses making meals for people who are in need of encouragement, help, or support, and then taking it to their home for them to enjoy at their convenience. On this episode, I share some tips to make this aspect of hospitality easy on you and the person you are seeking to encourage and bless!

If you have been in seasons marked by anxiety, you'll know it is not a joyous place to be. Feelings and fears crush our hearts leaving us struggling to cope. Is it possible to have victory? Is there hope beyond the anxiety and the symptoms it brings? Becca does a deep dive into Scripture, as well as sharing personal experience and truths God has taught her as she's battled these emotions. Friend, we have the victory in Christ! You'll find encouragement for your soul as you listen to this episode and biblical advice on how to gain the victory over anxious thoughts. God has extended "grace upon grace"! We just need to fall into His tender embrace and accept the peace only He can provide.

    Ep 105-Respectable Sins: Envy & Jealousy Sep 15, 2022
    Show notes

Continuing on our Respectable Sins study, we come to the sins of envy and jealousy. These are areas that have become great struggles in our culture today, especially in connection with social media. Facebook and Instagram have allowed us to have an intimate look into the "highlight reel" of other's lives. This often does more damage than good if we are not seeking wisdom in how we navigate these platforms.

In this episode, I share ways that I have battled these feelings and what God has taught me through those struggles. I Timothy 6:6 says, "But godliness with contentment is great gain." We need to learn to trust in the sovereignty of God and find contentment in the things He has gifted to us instead of comparing ourselves to others. Comparison is the first step that leads to the downward spiral of the sins of envy and jealousy. In our pursuit of Christlikeness, the sins of envy and jealousy should have no place on the throne of our hearts.

Titus 2 Talks- The Young Women, to be Good Sep 12, 2022
    Show notes

As Denise and I continue our study through Titus 2, we come to the word "good." What does this word mean? Strong's concordance says that this is the widest and colorless work with this meaning. So what does God have for us to learn about being "good".

Denise compares Scripture with Scripture and draws out the connection that God is making between this command for the aged women to teach the young women to be good and the Proverbs 31 woman who uses her tongue for kindness. Who is to be the recipient of our good/kind speech? It should be our husbands, children, and others God has put in our sphere of influence!

God has much for us to learn in the word "good." We pray that it will convict and challenge your hearts as much as it did ours!

    Ep 104- Modesty: A Heart Issue Sep 08, 2022
    Show notes

Modesty can quickly become a hot button topic. There are many differing opinions on what modesty is, or what it should be. The only opinion that should define how we live our lives is God's opinion! In this episode, we dig into this topic and see what God has to say about modesty.

I do not give a guideline for what you should or shouldn't wear. While I have strong convictions on this issue, I would never want someone to dress or present themselves in a certain way because "that's what Brettnay does." Our desire for modesty should come out of heart that desires to bring God glory in how we dress, act, and present ourselves. When someone looks at a Christian woman, they should see the beauty of the inward, not the temporal beauty of the outward.
