    Season 3, Episode 18: Preston Claiborne Nov 13, 2025
    Show notes

We’re on the road this week, reporting live from George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa — once again, the Florida home of the New York Yankees — and chatting with assistant pitching coach Preston Claiborne. Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz and YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits are on location for Yankees Fantasy Camp, but as Claiborne makes clear, preparations are well underway for the real-live Yankees’ quest for the 2026 World Series championship. The coach (and former Yankees pitcher) discusses his experiences climbing the coaching ladder, the lessons from 2025 and the joys of working with an elite squad of pitchers. Then, Jon and Meredith look ahead as the Hot Stove League opens, and finally, Yankees senior museum curator Brian Richards opens up the History Books for a chapter on one particularly interesting Yankees MVP honoree, Spud Chandler

    Season 3, Episode 17: Doc Gooden Oct 30, 2025
    Show notes

We have a special one this week, as YES Networks Meredith Marakovits sits down to chat with Doctor K himself, Dwight Gooden. A two-time world champ with the Yankees (and, sure, a winner with that team across town, as well), Gooden’s career highlights were as remarkable as his personal and professional lows were devastating. But the pitcher is an open book, and he details the horrors of addiction and the work he has done to remake his life. Then, Meredith is joined by Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz for a look back at Gooden’s life and career. Finally, we send it over to the New York Yankees Museum Presented by Bank of America, where Brian Richards has a History Books chapter about the 1936 Bronx Bombers.

    Show notes

Alas, another season ends. This week, Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz and YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits look back on the 2025 season, in particular the 3 games to 1 loss to Toronto in the American League Division Series. They discuss how it all played out, what they heard behind the scenes and the emotions of watching a promising year come to an end short of the goal. Then, they begin the process of looking forward to the 2026 Yankees season. Hope, as always, springs eternal. Finally, Yankees senior museum curator Brian Richards opens the History Books for a chapter about World Series bling.

Season 3, Episode 15: AL Wild Card Series Recap Oct 04, 2025
    Show notes

Behind a performance from the ages by rookie Cam Schlittler, the Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series, becoming the first team to lose the first game of the three-game series and win the next two. Ahead of the AL Division Series opener in Toronto, YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits and Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz take you into the clubhouse, with audio from the YES Network (and help from producer Blayke Scheer), as well as insight and analysis about everything that went on in the three games (and afterward!). Plus, Meredith and Jon get you ready for what should be a raucous start to the ALDS at Rogers Centre, where the Yankees and Blue Jays start things up on Saturday, Oct. 4.

    Season 3, Episode 14: Brian Cashman Sep 25, 2025
    Show notes

The Yankees are officially going to the 2025 postseason, and while we wait to find out what the road will look like — and if there will be a Wild Card Series or a bye into the Division Series — what better time to hear from the architect of it all. This week, general manager Brian Cashman drops by to chat with Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz about the ways that he has evolved in his role over nearly three decades, a tenure that would have been truly inconceivable when he took the reins. Then, Jon is joined by YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits for a chat about the clinch, the Champagne and so much more. Finally, Yankees senior museum curator Brian Richards opens the History Books for a chapter on the 1949 Yankees, whose road to the postseason has some echoes in the current moment.

    Season 3, Episode 13: Todd Frazier Sep 11, 2025
    Show notes

Before he was 13 years old, Todd Frazier already had a baseball resume that would forever resonate with fans from Toms River, New Jersey, and all parts of the planet. A hero at the Little League World Series, Frazier proceeded to enjoy a decorated MLB career that included two AllStar Game appearances and a stint in pinstripes. Now a youth coach and a YES Network

broadcast, Frazier chatted with YES colleague and New York Yankees Official Podcast host

Meredith Marakovits about life, memories and his perspective on the 2025 Yankees. Then,

Meredith chats with Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz about other players that

might thrive behind the microphone. Finally, we send it to the New York Yankees Museum

presented by Bank of America, where senior museum curator turns to a remarkable chapter of

some pretty creative sign-stealing from Yankees history.

    Season 3, Episode 12: Bernie Williams Aug 28, 2025
    Show notes

If Bernie Williams walked out of the public eye the minute his baseball career ended, he would have more than earned a break. The guy is in Monument Park for a reason, a cornerstone of four Yankees world championship teams. But as he discusses with YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits for this week’s episode of the New York Yankees Official Podcast, retirement has been anything but a break for the Puerto Rico native. Williams is busy as ever working on his music, and in between showing Meredith how to strum a few chords, he discusses the similarities between pursuing baseball and musical greatness, his upcoming concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall, and the work he does to spread awareness for the disease that took his father’s life nearly 25 years ago. For our second segment, Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz joins Meredith to chat about Bernie and the other beloved Bronx Bombers who returned to the Stadium for Old-Timers’ Day. Finally, Yankees senior museum curator Brian Richards opens the history books to a particularly hilarious chapter, a heist tale mixing some of the greatest Yankees ever with just a hint of espionage. You don’t want to miss this one.

This week, Ryan McMahon — one of the newest imports from this past baseball swap meet — stops by to chat with Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz. The two discuss the ins and outs of life on the go, his excitement about playing in New York, and the genesis of his remarkable glove work. Then, YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits stops by to chat about how she reports on the trade deadline, plus plenty more news around the Yankees. Finally, stick around for History Books, in which senior museum curator Brian Richards tells the story of Celerino Sánchez, a little-known Yankee from a little-remembered time.

    Season 3, Episode 9: 2025 MLB All-Star Game Jul 16, 2025
    Show notes

Every July, the baseball season takes a brief pause to celebrate the titans of the game, while the majority of the players, coaches and staffers around the league enjoy some much-needed time away from the ballpark. But the 2025 MLB All-Star Game was actually a family celebration for the Yankees, as the entire coaching staff, as well as much of the trainers and support staff, got to work on the American League All-Star staff as the defending AL champions. Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz and Yankees chief photographer/senior photography editor Ariele Goldman Hecht were on the ground in Atlanta for the Midsummer Classic, and in this episode, we have selected audio clips from Yankees All-Stars during media day, plus Jon and Arie discuss how they go about covering a massive baseball party that takes so many different forms.
