The Difference Between Left and Right Oct 22, 2025
    Show notes

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 132 There are several differences between the Left and the Right on ideological, philosophical, and political grounds, but in plain practical terms, there's another obvious difference. The Left has radicalized in a way conservatives have not, and in proportions that conservatives have not. Why is that? The answer is that the Left has succumbed to the blinding temptation for power far more than the rest of us have, and it has driven them mad. The thing is, while radicalism and political violence are not (at present) "both sides" problems, temptation is a both-sides problem. The friend-enemy distinction as a criterion of politics tempts us too, and we must continue to choose to reject it, or we will lose this most important distinction between Left and Right. Join host James Lindsay for this episode of New Discourses Bullets wherein he discusses this important matter. Latest from New Discourses Press! The Nazi Experiment, Vol. 8: Carl Schmitt's Politics and the Nazi State Oct 20, 2025
    Show notes

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 182 What was the underlying structure of politics in the Third Reich, and what bearing did this view of politics have on the unfolding Nazi Experiment? In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay continues this sprawling series on Nazism, showing not just that it was a disaster but also why it was a disaster. In this episode, he presents the politics of Carl Schmitt, which informed and meshed with the Nazi totalitarian program at its deepest levels. Lindsay presents some of Schmitt's famous The Concept of the Political (1932) to set the stage and then presents a short essay by Schmitt from 1936 simply titled "Politics" (https://endnotes.org.uk/posts/carl-schmitt-politics-1936) that leaves little doubt that his politics were Nazi politics, and Nazi politics were his politics. The relationship to the politics of Maoism (https://newdiscourses.com/2023/02/woke-mao-and-the-american-cultural-revolution/), discussed elsewhere on the podcast, are also made clear. Join him for this eye-opening look into the Nazi political world, which is particularly alarming given the Woke Right effort to mainstream Schmitt in conservative politics today. The Three Pillars of Civilization Oct 17, 2025
    Show notes

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 131 What is civilization? What is it based on? In the biggest picture, there are three fundamental pillars to civilization: truth, justice, and love. (You'll notice how Biblical this is.) Truth allows us to make real, meaningful strides, and reality will punish us if we fail to keep to it. Justice is necessary to keep people functioning together and working for their society and the American Dream. But these must also be pursued with an orientation toward love, not enmity, if we are to foster a civilization instead of a tribalistic warzone. Join host James Lindsay for this important episode of New Discourses Bullets where he lays out these three crucial pillars of civilization. Latest from New Discourses Press! The Raging Birth of the Queer Militancy Movement Oct 15, 2025
    Show notes

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 181 Due to the circumstances of the vile murder of Charlie Kirk, not to mention so many other acts of violence in the last few years coming from Queer Activists, we need to understand the Queer Militancy movement. This movement was inaugurated, by most accounts, with a Pride Day (how times have changed!) pamphlet written by an angry (sociognostic) lesbian and distributed in June of 1990. It is, in fact, therefore, a cornerstone not just of the Queer Militancy movement but also of a militant thread that has always been a part of Queer Theory. In this jarring episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay read through this evil anonymous memo, titled "Queers Read This," (https://www.digitaltransgenderarchive.net/downloads/df65v8092) to give you a window into the dark mentality of violence in Queer Theory. You won't (but kind of will) want to miss this. Latest from New Discourses Press! We Must Win By the Book Oct 13, 2025
    Show notes

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 130 The hard part of building and protecting civilization is that we have to do it while maintaining the values and principles of civilization. That means while the enemies of civilization can run amok and break rules, norms, policies, laws, and expectations, we cannot. We have to do everything by the book. It's not just that we need to on a matter of principle, though. We also must as a matter of strategy. In a two-tiered system like the Woke Left has set up for itself, it gets to excuse itself for breaking the rules, but we will not have that luxury. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks down the need for us to win by the book so we can preserve the book. Join him to learn how to fight for things worth fighting for. The Communist Manifesto, Volume 2: The Principles of Communism Oct 06, 2025
    Show notes

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 180 After a long wait, we return to finish our exploration (https://newdiscourses.com/2025/07/the-communist-manifesto-volume-one/) of The Communist Manifesto (pdf: https://newdiscourses.com/2025/07/the-communist-manifesto-volume-one/) here on the New Discourses Podcast. In this episode, host James Lindsay takes you through the last chapter of the Manifesto itself and then continues to "The Principles of Communism," which Friedrich Engels wrote, originally as a "Communist Confession of Faith" in 1847, a year before the Manifesto was published with Karl Marx. He and Marx wrote it for the Communist League, which is given as an offshoot of the League of the Just, a revolutionary secret society made up of scattered French radicals and the remnant-in-exile of the Bavarian Illuminati. Join James for this clear look into the foundations of organized Communism and the principles upon which it was organized. Latest from New Discourses Press! Sociognosticism and the Black Magic of Aleksandr Dugin Oct 03, 2025
    Show notes

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 179 As we recently explored, the Russian national socialist Aleksandr Dugin (https://newdiscourses.com/2025/09/the-russian-national-socialism-of-aleksandr-dugin/) is weird. Said to be Vladimir Putin's "brain," an unlikely claim, he has been publishing extremist and fascist philosophy for decades, much of which has been leaking into American right-wing (Woke Right) thought rather substantially in recent years. In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay reads from a short, creepy essay Dugin wrote for the Russian National Bolshevik magazine in 1995, titled "The Gnostic," (https://eurasianist-archive.com/2019/03/09/the-gnostic/) in which he makes the explicit case for following "left-hand path" (black, or Satanic) magic. In fact, he links this "magic" to Communism and Fascism and more. In this episode, Lindsay reads Dugin's bizarre essay and explains his concept of sociognosticism that makes sense of it. Join him to learn about this darkness threatening MAGA and American conservatism. Latest from New Discourses Press! Real Communism Can Never Be Tried Oct 01, 2025
    Show notes

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 129 We've all heard it before: "real Communism has never been tried!" Yeah, yeah. Well, here's the thing. "Real Communism" can never be tried, so this old canard isn't saying anything interesting at all. The reason is that "real Communism" is the utopian end state of Communism as an eschatological (end-times) religion. It never actually arrives. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks this simple fact down and reveals the same exact thing is also believed about "real Fascism." You won't want to miss it. The Nazi Experiment, Vol. 7: The Nazi Rejection of Paperwork Germans Sep 29, 2025
    Show notes

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 178 Characterizing what happened in Germany between the end of World War I and the end of World War II as the "Nazi Experiment" allows us to take a close look at what the Nazis did in the apparent attempt to solve some serious societal problems. Of course, the Nazi State had its conception of citizenship, as would any state, but rather than breaking down its population into "citizens" and "aliens," Hitler wanted there to be three statuses: German citizens, subjects of the state, and foreigners (or aliens). In the shortest chapter of Mein Kampf, he makes the case that birthright citizenship and naturalization "by paperwork" are "insane" policies that "poison" the nation. Curiously, this strange characterization has appeared on the "New Right" (Woke Right) recently as well. In a recent piece on The Blaze, "Auron MacIntyre" explains that "Paperwork Americans Are Not Your Countrymen" (https://web.archive.org/web/20250807204648/https://www.theblaze.com/columns/opinion/paperwork-americans-are-not-your-countrymen/ ). In this episode of the Nazi Experiment series of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay reads both of these documents to shed further light on the ominous parallels between then and now. Join him to learn more and unmask yet another likely operation against our republic. Latest from New Discourses Press! What Freedom of Speech Is and Isn't Sep 26, 2025
    Show notes

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 128 Freedom of speech is a concept a lot of people appreciate but also struggle with. It can be challenging for people to distinguish between threats to their freedom of speech, cancellation, censorship, and, on the other hand, more speech being the answer to speech. Drawing from one of his oldest popular writings (https://newdiscourses.com/2020/01/freedom-of-speech-fallacy-demanding-heard/), host James Lindsay addresses the issue of freedom of speech in principle in this new episode of New Discourses Bullets. He breaks down the four component freedoms in freedom of speech: to speak, to hear, not to speak, and not to hear. He also distinguishes these from certain things that are not part of freedom of speech, including unprotected speech and a small variety of entitlement complexes that hide behind accusations of censorship. Join him to get clearer on this important issue. Latest from New Discourses Press!
