    Native Opinion an American Indian Perspective

    Native Opinion is a unique Indigenous culture education Radio show & podcast from an American Indian perspective on current affairs. The Hosts of this show are Michael Kickingbear, an enrolled member of the Mashantucket Pequot tribal nation of Connecticut and David GreyOwl, of the Echoda Eastern Band of Cherokee nation of Alabama. Together they present Indigenous views on American history, politics, the environment, and culture. This show is open to all people, and its main focus is to provide education and insight about all things Native American. Sensitive subjects are explored such as American immigration policy, The United States political system. racism in America, plus a whole lot more.     The Flandreau Santee Sioux tribe has a victory in the Supreme Court of the United States against the corrupt actions of South Dakota's Governor Kristi Noem.
    The Drummer of Rock Group U2 Donated 100,000 dollars to help the Navajo and the Hopi. Over 8 million dollars have been raised by a variety of private groups to Help these nations who have more COVID-19 cases per capita than that of New York and New Jersey combined. Yet The United States can commit two trillion dollars to benefit (largely) Big business and (some) citizens of the country.
    Also:
    We keep hearing "we are all in this together" with respect to the Coronavirus. But are we? You wouldn't know it given the action of 40% of American citizens as well as some politicians. We provide some examples of this.
    In our Racism in America segment:
    We provide an update on the alleged (but likely) murder of George Floyd after the arrest of the police officer who kneeled on his neck. Also, White Americans Need to Condemn White Racism in America... the thoughts by Pastor and author John Pavlovitz.

    Episode 223 "Dire Is Mild In Comparison" May 20, 2020

    If anything is to be learned from this pandemic it is how woefully unprepared the United States has been in many areas. Americans are starving, as the country deals with food shortages, particularly in urban areas.
    A recent poll taken shows 37 % of Unemployed Americans ran out of food in the Month of April. If you can't work and make money, how do you buy food to live? Native People are also a part of this percentage who also live in urban areas. We look at this poll.
    Also, despite the pandemic, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) is back in operation, and working virtually. One of their cases may affect the jurisdiction of Oklahoma as it pertains to the 5 tribes within the borders of the state. At stake... Did the United States Congress dissolve the Muskogee Creek reservation, and remand jurisdiction to the state of Oklahoma? We take a look at Federal Indian Law, as well as potential scenarios that could play out for this case.
