    Dr. Sloan completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine where she made history as both the first African-American female Intern in General Surgery and the first African-American female Orthopedic Surgery resident. She has authored and published research projects in Orthopedic Surgery and a joint venture with NASA, Johnson Space Center.

    Dr. Sloan is the quintessential fusion of her love for science and a passion to help others. Her commitment to impacting lives reaches far beyond the hospital walls and is evident by her work in her community and internationally. She has established two specifically purposed non-profit organizations: ME&WE, Inc. (Motivating & Empowering Women to Excel), which collectively reaches over 5,000 women daily. The other is SLOAN STEM+Arts, an educational diversity initiative. It’s sole purpose is to increase the number of minority students in STEM careers through early exposure and mentoring, impacting financial stability for generations to come. In 2015, along with The Luke Church, Dr. Sloan initiated the philanthropic efforts for an international medical clinic with New Missions Organization in Haiti that now serves a community of more than 100,000 men, women, and children annually.

    Dr. Sloan currently serves on several Board of Trustees including, Black Women Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Institute of Spirituality and Health, RoweDocs Telemedicine, and Tristar Global Medical Inc. She is a consultant, blogger, and speaker for CompHealth and DairyMax, a national partner to the NFL and Fuel Up to Play 60 initiative, which promotes proper youth daily nutrition. She has been an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University with a focus on Health Care Administration. As a serial entrepreneur, Dr. Sloan helped to launch a telemedicine company as the Virtual OrthoDoc, one of the first of its kind in telehealth and orthopedics.

    Dr. Abboud is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and specializes in the treatment of patients with shoulder and elbow disorders. He is an internationally recognized authority on the treatment of shoulder and elbow disorders. He is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and has recently completed his four year term as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.

    Dr. Abboud graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Joseph’s University in 1994 with a B.S. in Biology. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine where he was promoted with “Distinction.” He earned membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society and graduated with honors in 1998. He went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he served as the administrative chief resident. He subsequently completed two (one-year) fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania in Shoulder and Elbow surgery and orthopaedic biomechanics.

    He has presented over 500 lectures nationally and internationally and is the author of over 200 scientific articles and several textbooks. He has an active interest in basic science research focusing on the modulation of scar formation after injury and surgery, biologic markers for prediction of rotator cuff healing, as well as the role of cholesterol in tendon health. This research has been funded by prestigious grants from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, the Department of Defense, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

    Alfred Atanda Jr. is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware where he serves as the Chief of the Center for Sports Medicine, the Director of Clinician Well-Being, and is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.

    His clinical interests include sports medicine, orthopedic trauma, general pediatric orthopedics, and injury prevention in youth athletes. With his expertise in these areas, he is frequently invited to teach and lecture locally, regionally, and nationally.

    A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, he completed residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Dr. Atanda also completed fellowships in pediatric orthopedic surgery, at Alfred I DuPont Hospital for Children, and in sports medicine surgery, at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University.

    His future goals and aspirations are to re-imagine how healthcare is delivered by leveraging digital health and telemedicine technology to appropriately triage, navigate, evaluate, and treat orthopedic patients. He is the chief editor of the world’s first textbook solely dedicated to telemedicine in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, and he has also launched a telemedicine concierge service for the parents of youth athletes: “ SportsLinkMD”.

    He is a physician expert for numerous telemedicine companies providing strategic advice and e- consultations to urgent care, emergency department, and primary care physicians, as well as a second opinions directly to patients. In his administrative role, he has been working to optimize the physician experience, bringing awareness to the many ramifications of physician burnout, lack of well-being, and physician suicide. He is a motivational speaker at wellness spas and resorts and is in the planning phases of developing a physician well-being podcast for the orthopedic surgery educational platform “OrthoBullets”.

    Dr. Benjamin W. Sears received his master of science in pharmacology from Tulane University. He then received his medical degree from Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, graduating in the top third of his class. Dr. Sears completed residency training in orthopaedics at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago.

    Following his residency, Dr. Sears received advanced training in the shoulder and elbow through his fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He received additional experience and training in elbow surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and the McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre, Ontario, Canada. After being in practice for three years, Dr. Sears joined Western Orthopaedics in 2014 and specializes in the care and treatment of elbow and shoulder injuries. Dr. Sears is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

    Dr. Freehill is a board-certified, double fellowship-trained specialist in orthopaedic surgery with a sub-specialty certification in sports medicine. His concentration is in shoulder and elbow. Dr. Freehill is a team physician for the Stanford University athletics program and head physician for the Stanford University baseball team. Dr. Freehill also teaches in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Freehill’s practice focuses on all shoulder conditions. He treats rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, shoulder arthritis, sports shoulder, arthroplasty, complex shoulder pathology, and sports-related shoulder injury. In addition, he is also passionate about sports- related elbow injuries, with an emphasis on thrower’s elbow.

    Dr. Freehill serves as assistant team physician for the Oakland A’s. Previously, he was a team physician for the Detroit Tigers and the Winston-Salem Dash (affiliated with the Chicago White Sox); he assisted with the Baltimore Orioles. He has also served as Director of Sports Medicine for Wake Forest University Athletics.

    He is also the director of the imminent Stanford Performance and Pitching Lab,and was a professional baseball player before becoming an Orthopaedic Surgeon. He has conducted a study on pitch counts in adolescent players funded by Major League Baseball. Dr. Freehill was also awarded a research grant from the National Institutes of Health to investigate stromal vascular fractionated mesenchymal cells and their potential for healing rotator cuff tendon tears.

    Dr. Lundy specializes in acute/reconstructive trauma, fracture and limb-lengthening surgery. Before joining SLUHN, he was co-President of Resurgens Orthopaedics, PC of Atlanta, Georgia. He previously was a member of the Orthopaedic Center of the Rockies in Colorado. He has treated patients with injuries of the bones, tendons and muscles for more than 22 years.

    Dr. Lundy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Emory University School of Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia.

    He has held leadership positions with American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Orthopaedic Association and the American College of Surgeons. For 10 straight years, he was named a Top Doctor in Georgia Trend and Atlanta Magazine.

    Dr. Lundy has performed intricate surgeries using only rudimentary instruments and supplies in Africa, Mongolia and the Far East. There he has taught local surgeons advanced operative and restorative techniques, so they can continue performing these procedures independently.

    Dr. Robert Gray completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Brown University in Providence, RI as part of their combined Program in Liberal Medical Education. He then matched into the combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago, IL--a program consistently ranked in the top 10 nationwide. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Gunnar Andersson, MD, PhD Award for best Chief Resident by his co-residents.

    He spent a year in Rochester, MN at Mayo Clinic completing a Fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery. There, he was trained in all aspects of general hand surgery, peripheral nerve surgery including brachial plexus reconstruction, and microsurgery including vascularized bone grafting.

    After completing training, he practiced and taught hand surgery at University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL. There, he focused primarily on complex trauma, reconstruction, and limb salvage and operated at Bascom Palmer hospital as well as Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was also selected as best Attending Surgeon Teacher by the Orthopaedic Residents.

    He has now returned to Chicago's North Shore to bring the highest level of orthopaedic hand and microvascular surgical care to his patients here. Practicing at NorthShore University HealthSystem.

    Dr. Christopher Grandizio is a board-certified hand and orthopaedic surgeon. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011.     Dr. Laith Jazrawi is the chief of sports medicine at NYU Langone where he is committed to developing techniques that would minimize the recovery period of the patients. His clinical research focuses on developing treatments for complex problems on shoulder, elbow, and knee disorders such as meniscal insufficiency, patellofemoral instability, and ligament injuries. He worked with physiatrists, physical therapists, dietitians, and sports psychologists at NYU Langone's Center for Musculoskeletal Care's Sports Medicine Center to assist athletes recover their strength, balance, and endurance skills. He has made significant contributions to both the clinical and research arenas as an academic sports medicine specialist in order to improve patient outcomes in the surgical therapy of cartilage injuries.

    Dr. Antonia Chen, who specializes in hip and knee replacements, is the Director of Research for the Division of Adult Reconstruction and Total Joint Arthroplasty at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. She is a certified Orthopaedic Surgeon by the American Board, and her professional practice focuses on patients with arthritic hips and knees, as well as avascular necrosis. She also specializes in the management of complicated patients who may require revision surgery or further therapy for earlier hip and knee surgeries and gives treatment to patients who have hip and knee problems, such as infection, stiffness, and fractures. Dr. Chen obtained her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University in New Haven, CT, and her medical degree from Rutgers Medical School, where she graduated with Distinction in Research and was admitted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During her medical studies, Dr. Chen also earned an MBA from Rutgers Business School and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She then completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia.

    Dr. Chen is an orthopaedic surgeon in active practice, as well as a committed researcher and clinician-scientist. Dr. Chen is a recognized and sought-after leader in her profession, both nationally and internationally. She also actively collaborates with fundamental scientists exploring these challenging scientific challenges in laboratories around Harvard Medical School. She is the Appropriate Use Criteria Leader for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Evidence-Based Quality and Value Committee and recently served as President of the Musculoskeletal Infection Society (MSIS).

    Dr. Lauren Geaney graduated with B.S Degree in Mathematics and Comprehensive Sciences at Villanova University. She also studied at UConn School of Medicine where she finished her degree in Medicine. She is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon and is currently the program director at UConn Health's UConn Musculoskeletal Institute. She received both her medical and orthopedic training at UConn. Dr. Geaney then finished her foot and ankle fellowship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, under Dr. Mark Myerson's direction.

    Dr. Geaney's professional practice is dedicated to the treatment of foot and ankle issues. Her specialization includes foot and ankle arthritis, ankle instability and sports injuries, tendinitis, fractures, and forefoot abnormalities such as bunions and hammertoes. She is also involved in studies aimed at improving our understanding of foot and ankle pathologies. In 2020, she joined the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons as Vice-Chair of the Education Committee.

    Dr. Garbis is a Certified Orthopaedic surgeon of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an Orthopedic surgeon who diagnoses and treats muscle, bone, and joint disorders, as well as sports injuries, degenerative illnesses, cancers, infections, and birth abnormalities. He is particularly interested in difficult shoulder repairs, such as reverse and complete shoulder replacement. Also, he subspecializes in general orthopedic surgery, elbow surgery, orthopedic sports medicine, and should surgery.

    Dr. Garbis earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Biomaterials from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and then went on to finish his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center. He then spent a year at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, after his residency. He obtained fellowship training in advanced shoulder and elbow surgery, including complicated reconstruction, replacement, and arthroscopy, while there. He conducts clinical and fundamental scientific research and has presented his findings at several regional, national, and worldwide conferences. Dr. Garbis is a participant in the American Orthopaedic Association’s Emerging Leaders Program. He has also written many book chapters and lectures at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

She is a New Hampshire native who graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry in 2000 and the University of Rochester School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine in 2006. She did her orthopaedic residency and fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at Brown University.Dr. Mulcahey then completed a sports medicine fellowship at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine. During her fellowship, she worked with San Diego Padres (MLB) and San Diego State University team coverage.In 2016, Dr. Mulcahey was one of four surgeons chosen for the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) Traveling Fellowship.Also, Dr. Mary Mulcahey joined Tulane's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as the Director of the Women's Sports Medicine Program in April 2017. Dr. Mulcahey has been essential in the creation, development, and leadership of a holistic approach to the care of active women in that capacity.

Dr. Brian Cole is a well-known orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine for knee, shoulder, and elbow .

    Dr. Cole is also the current president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and holds leadership positions in multiple societies in the field of sports medicine. He is the chairman of surgery at Rush Oak Park Hospita and is the head team physician for the CHicago Bulls NBA team, co- team physician for the CHicago White Sox MLB team and DePaul University in Chicago.He has published over 1000 articles and has given numerous national and internal talks on a variety of subjects. In 2009, he was recognized by his colleagues as one of the top 20 sports medicine, knee, and shoulder experts over the past five years and was selected as NBA Team Physician of the Year. Since 2004, he has been named one of the "Best Doctors in America" and a "Top Doctor" in Chicagoland since 2003. Also, Dr. Brian Cole is a professor of orthopaedics, anatomy, and cell biology at Rush University Medical Center and an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.     Adam D. Bitterman, DO is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He is a foot and ankle specialist and has a focus in treating conditions of the lower leg. His clinical interests include arthritis of the foot and ankle, deformity correction, Achilles tendon disorders, and sports-related injuries to the ankle and foot. He is highly skilled in arthroscopic, minimally invasive, and open approaches for various conditions surrounding the lower foot and ankle.

    Dr. Bitterman is a graduate of Binghamton University and pursued his medical education at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at North Shore-LIJ Plainview Orthopaedic Consortium before graduating from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where he completed his foot and ankle fellowship training. While in Chicago, he worked along side the team physicians for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Additionally, he won the Jorge A. Galante Research Fellow Award for his work on Achilles tendinosis.

    Adam serves as the co-chair of the Research Committee for the Plainview Hospital Orthopaedic Residency program. His research interests include clinical outcomes after foot and ankle surgery, Achilles tendon pathology, patient comprehension and residency training. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in orthopaedic journals and books chapters in orthopaedic textbooks. Dr. Bitterman has lectured to his peers as well as allied health professionals on various topics involving the lower extremity at local, regional and national meetings.

He oversees all educational and training programs within the department. He is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Bioengineering.

He was the recipient of a National Institutes of Health Training Grant and served as a Musculoskeletal Tissue Repair and Regeneration Research Fellow at the University of Virginia Health System, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he also completed his orthopaedic surgical residency training. This was followed by a foot and ankle fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. Following the completion of his training in 2013, Dr. Hogan joined UPMC.
