The times; are “a-changin’”. Some couples struggle with communication, others; with fidelity- but a select few couples know THE REAL STRUGGLE: finding “rubber” sheets that align with the pre-determined color scheme of your headboard and comforter.

That’s right we’re talking about guys that wet the bed and the women on their 9th mattress because of them. Finally. We all have reservations on a first dinner date, but what if that date comes attached to those reservations? Confused so were we, but a new “foodie” angle on dating might be on to something a little’ spicy!

Four Fingers And A Funeral Oct 14, 2024

Lubricant, rubber gloves, and Play-Doh are useful items in two very distinct communities. The former; is the community of people interested in making impromptu, exterior explosives. The latter community, tends to focus their attention on creating internal explosives. I think you can guess which community will be shining a light on today.

After finding some disturbing graffiti at her home it prompts a question that must be answered: is our own Corinne Kaplan in the middle of a gang war? Probably not, but will prevent her from freaking out and jumping to irrational conclusions about how to settle this turf war once and for all!?

Absolutely.

And for that we love her.

“You should assume everybody with me as a swinger.”

Normally, this is said to you a few seconds after the door has shut behind you at the Playboy mansion- but not in this case. In this case it was stated by Corinne’s “witch” friend- finally breaking the stereotype that brooms are the only thing they’re interested in riding.

Lastly, we have a craigslist: missed connection from a funeral. Sadly, this isn’t a connection you can find in the funeral guestbook… unless that guestbook is located in the unisex stall.

Does Calling An Uber For Your Stylist Count As A Tip? Oct 07, 2024

It’s 4’oclock Somewhere SWIMMERS, we are back! Corinne and I feel like neglectful parents that bounced to Italy for the summer, leaving only 100 bucks and a note on the kitchen table which reads: “spend wisely, see ya in August! ~Love mom & 3rd step-dad. We will never be out of your lives for this long again.

Whether you see that as good or bad… is nothing that we can control. What we can control is our very first show on the YEA media group. We are beyond excited to be working with them. They have been dope the whole time so let’s not let them down and get to business of our episode. Our girl Corinne shares a harrowing story of getting her hair colored. When she was done ironically, she wasn’t the only “Smoke Show” in salon. I was fascinated and quite understanding after she voiced displeasure and being upsold for an eye lift. I get it, we’re talking about a procedure on my face so please stop giving me the same vibes as someone trying to sell me a belt to go with jeans I just bought.

We end on a positive note, a beautiful phrase I will take with me for the rest of my days: “small hands, warm…”. Maybe just listen it will make sense.

We also get into Facebook:Wish-lists. Wish-lists are normally hastily scribbled by four year olds on Christmas Eve. In this case however the wishing is by adults…in the middle of the day… that are unemployed. All of them…

EP. 55 SPIRIT FORWARD Feb 09, 2024

If you ask parents with multiple children, some will tell you (after they’ve had seven or eight whiskey doubles) that they never thought that one of those children would graduate high school.

That kid was partying and drinking before they could spell “partying” or “drinking”.

Most of said parent’s time was spent ensuring a bevy of legal violations would be expunged from their adult record, but they are they are- against-all-odds- walking across the stage.

Tears rolled down this proud-parents cheeks while a flashing ankle monitor, monitored this child’s whereabouts but that’s water under the bridge because THAT’S a high school graduate my friends.

That kid beat the odds.

…And that describes this podcast. We tried to work in some new technology and it kicked us directly in our auditory nether regions.

The audio is not great, but if you listen, it’s hilarious… and if you listen really hard, you’ll hear two friends that absolutely love talking to each other. It’s worth the effort, trust me.

We also agree that a walk down the catwalk is worth more than a 20% discount. From the catwalk we stroll into a bizarre story about Corinne ‘s experience with a creepy nudist colony. It’s weird to hear about people walking around naked, it’s borderline gross when you learn what those people are sitting on (and why).

Toothbrush-gate breaks out on the pod when our favorite duo have a serious disagreement about the placement of an over-night guests toothbrush.

EP. 53 Free Range Hottie on a Frozen Night Jan 24, 2024

In present day parlance, the term free range is used to let the buyer know that the animal didn’t live its life in a pen the size of a bathroom you would find on a Greyhound Bus. He was free to roam... before ultimately being killed in preparation of his journey from his farm to your table.

Years ago, my friends and I recommissioned the term free range to mean: meeting somebody organically; out in the wild, no apps, no tech- just like meeting somebody in a record store 1986.

Simply chance; and happenstance.

Well, forgive me for being presumptuous, but we might have a real life, farm-raised situation brewing right here at MSWIM headquarters. Good things are coming for our girl- I can feel it in my bones.

Speaking of bones, the temperature in Colorado was neck and neck with that of the surface of Mars; so please keep that in mind when hearing the stories. The backdrop for these stories

is a frozen tundra, nothing is moving. Everything is still- everything- except our Cookie, and that may have made all the difference.

This podcast has it all from hand-me-down hotel upgrades; to the debut of a new segment we know you’ll love.

There’s something in the air, I don’t know if it’s love; it might just be nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oxygen but, it could be love.

If you are still listening to this podcast, you know one thing. This show is about laughter, but mostly about learning.

We learn about a number of things in this episode:

1) Corinne had an alias- not a sexy alias- but one normally reserved for a woman living alone in an apartment in the Bronx.

2)Corinne confesses something, very personal about her childhood videos, leading to a very heartfelt moment.

Enough with the learning.

It’s like I always say: “learning is dumb mostly.”

We then get a crazy story from Cookie, which involved: a well, a machete and a lack of proper medication.

From that harrowing story, the two seamlessly transition into a hilariously bad date that left Al’s mouth agape.

Finally we review a book from LeVar Burton-we think.

This was one of my favorite, and most real episodes. I learned a lot about my friend Cookie, and I love her just like you guys do.

EP. 50 TUCKING IN THE CHAMP Dec 20, 2023

Oh my God we did it!

Our 50th anniversary. If we were married, I would have a diamond ring at The Four Seasons Hotel restaurant telling her: “she’s just as beautiful as she was the day that we met” and she would know that’s our secret code for: “let’s try and get the waitress to come home with us.” I’m getting teary-eyed.

I am honored to say that 50 episodes in; myself- Al Jackson, and my asexual-sister-wife, Corinne “Cookie” Kaplan, have had an absolute blast recording 50 episodes of who we really are and being accepted and loved by all of our SWIMmers without whom; none of this would be possible.

In this episode we finally get the much anticipated Mike Tyson story as requested by our wonderful SWIMmer, Trevor. We also add yet another embarrassing bullet point to Corinne‘s “low-key” IMDb; in this case- she traded goods for services. A poor decision all-around.

We’ll also dive into some incredible dating profiles and bring it around full-circle as we hear back from a SWIMmer, whose email had us request that they follow up… and that they did. Thank you Pedro.

EP.49 ATTN: Butterface Casting Dec 06, 2023

I’ll start off this week by saying that this weeks episode was 10 to 20 times harder to edit than last week’s- just because there was so much extra content. I also wrestled with the title. "Shut up and put this top hat on...", was a close second; you'll hear why....

Almost 50 episodes in and yet Cookie I still can’t stop ourselves from blabbing like two strangers sitting in front of you on a plane that you hate. Do you guys know that nothing’s happening here? Stop trying to be friends- you’re not gonna look at each other as soon as the wheels touch the tarmac of our destination.

I digress. This episode is a roller coaster; the highs of the glorious world of “fit” modeling, the low’s of a bleak alpaca revelation as well as a frantic rant from a lizard Tiktoker. *Guidance counselor never told you that was an option did they?

December marks my fifth year of sobriety, but that doesn’t do much to quell my fiery anger towards “Christmas themed” bars, to which Cookie’s stories only stoke the flame.

Of course we delve into are we dating the same guy? Check. Online dating responses- check. Finally, we give some heartfelt advice to a SWIMmer with a unique family dynamic.

We begin by channeling our inner “old ladies” chatting about Black Friday sales and our respective purchases. Of course, we stumble into one of our favorite topics: Are we dating the same guy and bumble profiles.

We then get into the uncomfortable conversation about forgetting peoples names that we’ve definitely hooked up with followed by Al losing it when Corinne recounts a recent date in which she was asked to go Dutch- at a very inopportune time.

EP. 46 Putting the “spice” in hospice! Nov 15, 2023

We cling to the toys we associate with our childhood, because they represent our last grasp at innocence. Before the world grabs you by the collar, holds you up against your locker and goes through your pockets before stating: “...this is life now, get used to it nerd!”

Yes; I am channeling 5th grade, but my larger point is:

being an adult is terrible, it’s awful.

That’s what makes certain toys from our childhood that much more important whether it be: Legos, Cabbage Patch dolls, Super Mario on Nintendo or even boring-ass Monopoly.

We all love these toys from our childhood.

Well, we've found one person that has such a reaction to one of these childhood icons that it led to a story I have not stopped laughing about since hearing it.

Cookie, almost 50 episodes into this podcast, still manages to surprise me over and over again.

It would be well within our rights to just tell that story about this childhood toy and end the show- but never that!

Not in this economy.

We have to give you some “bang” for your proverbial “buck”, and we do just that by Corinne getting to the final chapter in the Lord of the Pink Ring saga. A saga that involves: an unsullied hot tub, clear purses, missed connections with buffaloes and a rug that nearly turned this into a one-man podcast.

This is one for the ages.

My people! It's great to be back with another dope episode.

Halloween has come and gone but the memories have not faded from the minds of our beloved Coco n’ Al. Al went as a famous music legend, Corinne went as… well… I don’t even think I’m allowed to explain any further.

As for Halloween; Corinne had quite the night, it started with what can only be described as the world’s most polite “assault”, followed by fun and games in the grocery store.

Nobody on the show Supermarket Sweep, has run faster through the aisles than this individual. I guess life really is all about incentives.

The two segue into a difficult , but necessary conversation about how to use the bathroom on vacation with a current lover when there’s: one room, one bathroom and a number two that can’t wait.

Finally as if the topic of: “Race kink” play couldn’t have gotten any more uncomfortable we have a follow-up listener email that makes that conversation look like polite chat on a breezy mid-summers eve.

Salmon hands is the nickname you get in the fourth grade that eventually leads to your parents having a hushed, closed-door meeting in their bedroom before ultimately deciding to move school districts- because that nickname is something that you cannot out run.

You’ll learn today besides what are Salmon Hands. You’ll also learn about Corinne's never ending date that involved: a brunch with no food, a poor parking job, forced dog sitting, an art gallery, expiring wine, a hot tub and most importantly, a check for breakfast … split for two. His/hers.

EP. 43 Lord of the (Toilet) Rings: A Tale of 4 Bowls Oct 25, 2023

Never have I ever had to work so hard to edit a podcast. Normally editing a podcast can prove difficult if: there is a lot of dead air, things are said that are unfunny or the hosts are saying things that could get someone canceled.

None of those things apply to this podcast.

The reason it took me so long to edit this podcast was because Cookie was laughing so hard at the story that she was telling that it was over modulating the audio software. Mind you that is software used to record rock bands, electric guitars, etc. This software handles piercing instruments with no problem, but yet- it could not figure out a way to regulate Corinne's uncontrollable joy.

I shall forewarn you that this was one of the funniest episodes ever while also being one of the saddest.

Why? Because life isn’t always pretty kids.

Sometimes your hero gets beat up right in front of you like the Karate Kid.

But in this case our hero will redeem themselves...

or will they?

I guess you have to listen to find out.

We also get into a SWIMmers very serious question about: a new partner with a taboo kink. A classic episode if I must say so myself.

“Secure the bag”: is a phrase used in popular culture to remind all of us: that it’s money over everything.

Normally securing the bag is a good thing, except in our girl Cookie’s case because her bag, may come with a lifetime warranty.

As we all settle in to a cozy, fall -mindset; we go back to some old favorites that’ll warm you inside more than your grandmother's hot cocoa. You know the cocoa you secretly spike with Kalua & Baileys when she’s not looking. Yeah, THAT cocoa. Also-not judgement. So consider: are we dating the same guy, you’re Bailey’s; and Denver singles your cognac- two things that have been getting you through this crazy life and 24 straight years of grandma telling the exact same story.

Albert & Cookie also discuss their crazy exes and what is a "dead giveaway” for when somebody has “lost the thread and needs professional help that you cannot provide. Finally, our pair throws a life vest…not a lifevest. What’s the circle thing that’s also an emoji? The orange circle thing that people don’t really use in emergencies, but it’s always on some cokehead's yacht, on the wall of a mid-tier fish place or a fancy rooftop pool that’s impossible to drown in? Whatever. We throw one of those to a SWIMmer who needs help telling a friend, “you’re f*cking up our circle.”

All that and more as well as what you call the: circular-orange-“life-vest” that you can’t wear you can just throw to people- in this episode. Enjoy.

We have a lil' sumthin' sumthin' for the SWIMmer's today.

In this episode, Corinne solidifies a theory that we’ve all probably had at one time or another: needles are never good once they cross the southern of the border- especially when that border is yours- and that needle is being held by colo-rectal surgeon. Big. Yikes.

Don’t waste valuable time looking too deeply into the definition of Trash Art. I'll save you a google search. Trash Art: adj. def: Items placed in dumpsters that Al & Corinne subsequently remove from said dumpster and hang directly on their walls. Al makes trash art and Coco collects trash art. Until this podcast neither of these weirdos knew that the other one did this on an embarrassingly regular basis. *As if there was any question the universe hadn't predestined that these two were going to be fast friends.*

Let's hope the topic of being a "Furry" comes up in the next pod so these two can finally be open about everything.

EP. 34 "IN THE BEST OF MY MATING CONDITION" Aug 30, 2023

I taught middle school for five years. When I had a really great student that I wanted to go on and on about how wonderful they were, while also writing as little as possible; I would simply write: an absolute pleasure!

I tell you that boring story so that you may better understand what it was like to go back and listen to this episode, it was: an absolute pleasure!

However, it was not without its difficulty.

We agreed on the show’s title unanimously, in real-time during the show (which almost never happens) but after going back and listening I feel like there were AT LEAST three other potential show titles:

“Money is on a different level, so yeah- not”

“In the prime of my age”

“In the best of my financial state”

I understand after reading that, you may panic saying: “Oh my God, we’ve mated ChatGPT with the worlds dumbest human! We’re all doomed.”

But fret not, these are just quotes from one of the world’s dumbest human beings. ChatGPT is unscathed and continuing to help semi-literate, functional alcoholics pass college classes. Silver linings.

The dating profiles Coco brings for us have brought light into my life ever since and now they are here for you.

EP 22 Rainy Sidewalks Paved With Gold Jun 07, 2023

Fresh off of an episode about barbecue etiquette, in which we had the nerve to lecture our swimmers about the do’s and don’ts of barbecues, Corinne went out and did all of don’t without a hint of irony- she just forgot not to do that. Stick around for that. Oh, and if you are planning to stick around, why don’t you stay a little longer and hear how she may have blown it with the best guy ever- although, who knows? With Corinne, redemption is always right around the corner (or right down the stairs of the next speakeasy). Al tells a tale in which he requests the advice of the SWIMmers; before he acts, as he has no felony record and would like to keep it that way. Our duo is never one to ask for help without giving a little! So the pair offers up some revenge “ideas” to help a SWIMmer “blessed” with some close-minded in-laws.
