    When Music meets Comedy w/ Emily Misura Apr 11, 2022

    Musician and comedian Emily Misura is our guest on today's episode. Emily is a Toronto-based violinist, DJ, model, and comedian. She has performed with numerous ensembles, and she was awarded a first violin position with the Venice Symphony when she was only sixteen. Dashboard Confessional, MAE, The Who, ELO, Frankie Valli, Amy Grant, Machine Gun Kelly, and Richard Cheese are just a few of the musicians and bands she's worked with. Emily has also recently announced the release of her debut comedy album, "Trigger Warning," which will be available across all platforms on 4/20, or you can pre-save it now HERE. We sat down in the studio and spoke with Emily about her love for the violin, her experience moving to another country during the pandemic, and why she decided to get into comedy.     Discovering Joanna Majoko's Musical Journey Apr 04, 2022
    Show notes

    Joanna Majoko, a Toronto-based performer, songwriter, and bandleader, is our guest today. Joanna has made a name for herself as one of Canada's most promising young singers. She has regularly been on the bandstand with some of the country's top musicians, including Jane Bunnet and Maqueque, David Clayton-Thomas, of Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and Larnell Lewis of Snarky Puppy. Majoko spent most of her youth in Zimbabwe, despite being born in Germany to German and Zimbabwean parents. Majoko migrated from Zimbabwe to South Africa before settling in Manitoba with her family when she was fourteen. Early last year, Joanna released her debut EP, No Holding Back, which is currently available on all your favourite streaming platforms. We connected over the internet with Joanna to discuss her journey halfway across the globe to Manitoba, how she fell in love with music, and so much more. Please enjoy responsibly :)

Their performances take place in performing arts theatres and arenas across Canada and are planned in collaboration with local schools and communities.
