In this episode Tony and Al are going to let Captain Kenneth Bianchi take the stand and present his case.
Kenny has faked being an MPD, has confessed, pleaded guilty and asked for a plea deal so he wouldn’t get executed.

But all we’ve heard this season is how innocent he is!
Bianchi said if he could get the information out to the world he could prove his innocence, so Captain Bianchi here is your chance.
Ken says that serial killer Bill Suff is really the Hillside Strangler, however the Hillside Strangler murders took place between October 1977 and February 1978 and that timeframe is irrefutable. Suff was in a Texas prison during this time.

Season 6 Episode 8 “Ken Bianchi The Hillside Strangler “Infidelity, Hypnosis and Alibis” Sep 09, 2024

Tony’s story starts with a taped conversation where Bianchi describes how his wife was unfaithful to while he was in jail. He found out much later that a psychologist that worked for the defense team was sleeping with Kelli. This certainly is karma at its best.
In another taped conversation Ken went to great lengths to describe how he was framed and never committed any of the crimes.
Tony shares part of a tape recording of one of Bianchi’s supposed multiple personalities. This is Steve describing the crimes and pointing out who killed each of the victims.

Angelo Buono’s past is covered by Tony describing what a terrible person he was. His treatment of his wives and women in general is disgusting. Tony shares a letter from Bianchi describing their relationship, and of course it was filled with Bianchi lies and distortion of the facts.

Bianchi describes his relationship with Veronica Compton who tried to be a copy cat killer for him and wound up serving 23 years in prison.

At one point Ken Bianchi was trying to set up alibis with 12 different people for himself, and even tried to use Francis his mom for one. He is such a good con man that he had a girl actually write up an alibi for him the night of the Bellingham murders. Thankfully for her she changed her mind and didn’t end up like Compton.

Bianchi continues to fake his innocence and on various phone calls you will hear him talk how it pisses him off that killers can’t be honest with victims families so they can have closure. This coming from someone who has murdered 12 girls and still feigns innocence.

Tony and Al will cover the murders of Kimberly Martin the 9th victim and Cindy Hudspeth the 10th and final victim of the Hillside Stranglers.
These stories both have several twist and turns that make you wonder how these killers were not stopped.
Angelo pulls a gun on Bianchi and tells him to get out of town or he will be the next victim.
Bianchi moves to Bellingham Wa to be with his girlfriend Kelli and their son. It’s been almost a year since Bianchi killed and he can’t fight the impulse. He murders Karen Mandic and Diane Wilder in the same house at the same time. After leaving many clues he is arrested within hours of the bodies being found.
During the investigation police find evidence tying Bianchi to the Hillside Strangler murders.
Bianchi tried to fool the prosecution's expert witness psychiatrists by feigning multiple personalities, but when his star personality Steve Walker (the vicious killer personality) was found to be the same name as on his fake psychiatry degree, Bianchi knew that he was finished.

So being the sniveling little weasel rat that he was he did what rats do, Bianchi agreed to testify against cousin Angelo Buono so he could avoid the death penalty.

It’s been 32 years since Tony was hit in the head by that jet ski, and It’s been 32 years since this maniac known only as the I-70 killer committed his first murder. After many questions everyone is in agreement that this guy should be investigated. Al emails Bob on air, the alleged killer’s name and pictures of him so he can get them to the right detectives to start the investigation.

Season 6 Special Episode 5 "We Found The Root Cellar" From The Best Of Murder Phone Aug 12, 2024

This episode is from our "The Best Of Murder Phone" list !
Tony, Al and Joey were very disappointed after the first trip to Cape Cod in December of 2016. They found the general area of the root cellar so they knew it was there, but they needed a new plan of attack. We began to investigate Ground Penetrating Radar and after much investigation and some disappointments we finally are able to rent a GPR device (Noggin 500) and return to Cape Cod in November of 2018.

We retrace our earlier steps and spend 4 days formulating grids and soil slices. During these 4 days we were on the phone with experts in the field of GPR. We had sent so many videos and images and had so many false alarms that we were getting discouraged.
Finally on the 4th day we find an area that is as Hadden described it, and it is at a depth that makes sense. After over two years, two trips to Cape Cod, and a whole lot of time, work and expense we finally found Hadden’s secret Root cellar. It was late in the day and the sun was going down. The fact that we were standing over the root cellar made the excitement almost unbearable, but at the same time foreboding.

Season 6 Episode 5 The Hillside Stranglers “L.A. Women” Jul 15, 2024

The year is 1976 and Kenny is 25 years old and moving away from mommy with a whole bunch of problems.

Tony shares a phone clip with Bianchi’s mom that has never been revealed before.

When Kenny was 4 or 5 he got 3 sets of front teeth. She asked the dentist if he would be a demon, and if he would go crazy later in life.
Talk about foreshadowing isn’t it ironic that this guy truly is a demon.
Bianchi’s adopted father Nick Bianchi died suddenly in 1965. It has been said that Frances made him wear his dads shoes to his funeral to symbolize that now he has to fill his father’s shoes.
Tony shares a conversation with Ken were he fervently denies this even though Ken’s mom told Tony that it happened.
Here’s where his psychopathy shows because Bianchi always wants to control the narrative. The internet drives him crazy because he’s a true psychopath and he can’t control what’s being said, so he has to improvise whenever he can.
Ken claims that Tony was duped into believing that a piece of art that he obtained was a forgery.
Tony shows the artwork and reads the COA that is written and signed by Kenneth Bianchi in 1991 verifying that he was the artist.

Last week Tony covered the terrible effects of ABS Abandoned Baby Syndrome. We know how bad Ken’s first 3 months were and now we will hear some of what the rest of his childhood was like.

Tony will quote comments from some of the Medical reports that go back as far as the 1950s. Here are a few examples:

“The relationship between Ken and his adoptive mother was not normal”
Ken Bianchi was a bed wetter and when he was taken to the hospital the first time a quote from the attending doctor read “Mother Needs Help”
The worker went on to say
“Mrs. Bianchi was unwilling to accept the possibility she as well as the boy might need psychiatric treatment rather than medical treatment.”
We also learn that relationships were always a problem, Ken proposed to a girl named Susan in 1969 but she turns him down, so he marries Brenda Beck for a few months, but she doesn’t meet his standards.
In 1971 Ken marries again but this time his wife leaves him after 8 months.

Season 6 Episode 2 Francis Bianchi “Loving Mother or Evil Step Mom” Jun 24, 2024

This episode we are going back to Ken’s early years and we’ll see some of the reasons he turned out the way he did.
Frances Bianchi and Tony became good friends so you will hear a lot of conversation from her during this season.
As we get into the story we’ll see that it was a really complicated relationship between mother and son.

A true Oedipus complex.
Tony and Al think that this, along with his other childhood issues really messed little Kenny up during his early years.
Kenny’s birth mother was a 17 year old alcoholic sex worker.
For the first 3 months baby Kenny was passed around, he was never held, taken care of or even loved a little bit.
This is called Abandoned Baby Syndrome which is a terrible source of stress for infants. This along with the way Kenny was treated over the first 3 years of his life will carry over into adulthood and can’t be reversed.

When they adopted Kenny at the age of 3 months Frances thought her prayers had been answered and she was overjoyed that she now had a son.
However over the early years when the problems started mounting up, Frances was torn between being the overbearing doting mother and a strict disciplinarian.

Ken Bianchi’s life long wish was that his story could be told to the world to prove his innocence.
This season we will grant his wish and present his case.

Tony, his brother Joey and his Dad help him wrap up the entire season. Given all the information that Metheny has shared it is quite a task.

In order to help tell Metheny’s story and prove he was telling the truth Tony also shares all the seasons videos in an order that will help clarify everything.
Metheny talks about his truck driving days and how the road was a “killers paradise”. Almost everything that Metheny confessed to, was investigated by Tony and Al, and they believed that he was telling the truth.They share everything with local investigators and The Center for Missing and Exploited Children hoping Metheny’s confessions will help solve some cold cases and bring closure to the victims families. During the penalty phase Metheny addressed the jury and this is part of what he said:
“The words I’m sorry will never come out for they would be a lie. I am more than willing to give up my life for what I have done, to have God judge me and send my ass to hell for eternity. There is no excuse for the things I have done to those people. I just enjoyed it. So I ask of you, please give me the fucking death penalty”

Joseph Roy Metheny was found dead in his cell on August 5, 2017, and at that point his wish for death came true.

Metheny’s letters are so detailed and are always fascinating, putting the listener right in the middle of the story.
Tiny describes how he thought he saw a ghost when describing one of the female guards.
She reminded him of the 12 year old girl that was his first kill back in 1970. He lost control and his actions once again ended up with him being put in the dreaded hole. Finally he describes another of his murders that he was never caught for.
In detail he discusses the killing of a prostitute while he was a trucker out on the road. Even giving details where it happened and where she is to this day.
Joe always intimated that victims were readily available to over the road truckers and he took full advantage.

Metheny sends Tony an unexpected present. He also describes more about his first kill experiences.

Joe Metheny sends Tony a tooth that he pulled out of his mouth. This tooth actually consumed human flesh.

Season 4 Episode 14 Finding Megan Emerick “Finding The Cabin (Again) Part 1” May 08, 2023

Tony and Manfried are now in present day so everything they do from now on is about finding the cabin and of course bringing Megan Emerick home.

Tony had to make sure that Manfried was still on board so he asks him if he still wants to try to find the cabin.
He shares their most recent conversation, and here is just a little of what we learn:
Manfried wants to do it, but you can tell he’s fed up.
The only one he trusts to be involved is Tony.
Hansen built the cabin with his wife and 2 small children in 1970.
He only had his boat in Seward back then . No plane.
He took 2 girls there by boat. One named Megan in 1973 and he thinks maybe Mary 1975. Hansen said one went in The Bay and one was buried.
Tony shares another conversation with Megan Emerick’s nephew Shayne that will blow your mind. Shayne talks about things that no one has ever heard including his father.

Season 4 Episode 13 Finding Megan Emerick “Moving Ahead, On Our Own” May 01, 2023

In 2013 for some unknown reason the plug was pulled on the investigation to find the cabin where Megan Emerick was buried.
Tony and Manfried never gave up and decided they would use all the information that they had compiled and move ahead on their own.

Tony was constantly trying other ways to find Hansen’s cabin. This included many attempts through Hollywood connections that always led to dead ends.
In 2017 Tony was receiving puzzling emails from Manfried regarding a Production company and Missing and Exploited Children looking to talk with Manfried again about finding the cabin.
Manfried didn’t trust anyone after what happened so he made the decision he would only talk with Tony about this. He wanted the cabin found but wanted to do it right.
There are several present day conversations that are very interesting and further confirm the fact that Manfried is a changed man
Shayne Emerick who is Megan Emerick’s nephew talks with Tony about what he heard about Megan when he was growing up, and how her disappearance affected the whole family.

Season 4 Episode 12 Finding Megan Emerick “We’re On Our Own!” Apr 17, 2023

Tony discusses questions he has received about living life with a TBI.
Manfried is so happy to be back in Alaska. Listen to a conversation he has just after he gets back.

Manfried really wants to find Megan Emerick, but he’s beginning to think something is up. Everything went silent and none of us know why.
Manfried once again reiterates that he can pinpoint the location of the cabin if he can just get a little help.
Manfried sends some more exciting information about the cabin hoping it will peak Agent Gary’s interest.
In August 2013 after reaching out several times Tony receives a call from Agent Gary. He informs Tony that although the information was great and it all checked out they were ordered to stop the investigation. Unfortunately no details were supplied.
Tony, Al and Manfried realize they are now On Their Own and they agree to continue to work on finding the cabin themselves.

Episode 11 Finding Megan Emerick “The Frozen Ground” Movie Plays a Part! Apr 10, 2023

The newspaper article is once again causing big problems for Manfried.

Manfried tells Tony that he wants to meet with the lady from Seward, Shiela Squires and Agent Gary who didn’t know about the article. He wanted nothing to do with the agent that he felt leaked the article that truly put him in danger.
At this time they are seriously looking for the cabin, but Agent Gary is still going to Gage and trying to get information from other people. Manfried doesn’t understand this because only two people know where the cabin is, him and Hansen.
Manfried is told he will be moved for his safety, but it doesn't happen and once again he is put in the hole and loses everything.
The movie The Frozen ground was announced and it seemed to really affect the investigation.
Manfried was still willing to do his part and actually said in a letter, “if he was given the proper tools he could put them within one mile of the infamous cabin,” but he had lost all faith in Agent Gary.

Tony explains that because of what happened to Megan Emerick, Mary Thill and the rest of Hansens victims that we owe it to them to cover this the right way.

The whole point of this season is to complete the search for this cabin that we started in 2008, and we’re going to need a lot of help with this.
It has to become a Murderphoniac team effort.
I believe that everyone that sticks with us and is involved will have a feeling of satisfaction like never before.
After 15 years it’s high time we bring Megan Emerick home.
Tony and Al cover the Newspaper article that was published in Anchorage, Alaska September 28th 2008.

Season 4 Episode 9 “The Cabin” The Center for Missing and Exploited Children Mar 27, 2023

The ball is rolling and The National center for Missing and Exploited Children have joined the search for the Cabin where Megan Emerick is buried.

Megan was last seen in Seward, Alaska on July 7, 1973. Investigators believe the serial killer Robert Hansen may have been involved in Megan's disappearance, but he denied any involvement in her case.
Hansen did admit to Manfried that he brought Megan Emerick out to the Cabin, killed her and buried her there.
Hansen drew a sketch of the cabin in his cell and crumpled it up and threw it away. Manfried retrieved it and sent the original to Tony. Tony made a copy and shared it with The Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Manfried sent Tony his personal Journal that covers from May 2008 to March 9th 2009. The daily entries really give you a true perspective of what it’s like being in prison.

Season 4 Special Episode: “Fuck My Life” Mar 20, 2023

Tony has suffered with severe depression for the past 4 weeks, so he felt it was time for some light hearted comedy. Today he will share his fictional tale about a really bad day. It’s titled “Fuck My Life”

Tony’s favorite pastime is writing and over the years his favorite topic was comedy. He often would send the criminals copies of his writings.
Manfried especially loved Tony’s stories. Tony shared Fuck My Life with him back in September of 2008. You will hear a short conversation clip with Manfred’s reaction to the story.

Season 4 Special Episode: Message from Your Host Tony Ciaglia about TBI “The Silent Epidemic” Mar 13, 2023

I suffered a severe TBI in July 1992 when I was struck in the head by a jet ski. Very little was know back then about Traumatic Brain Injury and it was a miracle that I survived. Traumatic Brain Injury then was known as “The Silent Epidemic”.

It is now March 2023, more than 30 years after my accident, and TBI is still considered The Silent Epidemic.
It is my mission in life to try and shed some light on this terrible injury and to enlighten the public on the life long effects that this injury has had on me and my family.
Debilitating psychiatric problems are common and equally devastating to the patient. Among them, depression, is on the top of the list, followed by anxiety and bipolar disorder.
According to studies there is also an increased risk of alcohol and substance-related problems and suicidal thoughts.
I’m going to share a narrative that I wrote titled “Living Life with a Brain Injury”. I hope you will listen, because it was written from my heart and is all true.
It’s my hope that after hearing it you will have a better understanding of what TBI does and someday we can stop calling it “The Silent Epidemic”.
I’m also sharing audio of my appearance on The Doctors Show and a lecture I gave at The University Of Wisconsin about Living with a TBI and of course Serial Killers.

Season 4 Episode 8 Finding Megan Emerick “The Cabin” Mar 06, 2023

The odyssey to find "The Cabin" continues. The search becomes very real when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children gets involved.

Manfried finally gets out of the hole and you’ll hear a conversation between Tony and him describing how he handled the Hansen situation.
West gets sent to an Arizona prison on Con Air and he continues to ask Tony for help on the Cabin and finding Megan Emerick and Mary Thill.
Tony is busy trying to keep up with writing to the other 20 to 30 killers he’s corresponding with so his time is limited.
Manfried finally peaks Tony’s interest and after not having success with the FBI, Tony calls the Seward Alaska police and after 40 years gets the case reopened.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children get involved and they set up to visit Tony at his home.
You will hear the very first call between Manfried and Tony back in June of 2007 as Manfried thanks Tony for his help and awaits the agents visit.

Season 4 Episode 7 “Joe Vogler, The FBI, The Hole” Feb 27, 2023

Tony reveals a letter that Manfred’s attorney sent to the Parole Board in 2022 although Manfried’s hearing isn’t until 2025.

This is not a normal occurrence and you can see that Mr. Satterberg clearly believes that Manfried acted in self defense, and that he has reformed himself and deserves parole.
Tony hears about the Cabin for the first time and the fact that Hansen told him where it is.
Tony and Al were heading to Alaska for a visit with Manfried when all hell breaks loose.
Somehow Hansen finds out that Manfried has been talking to the F.B.I. about him, and the prison puts Manfried in The Hole for his own protection.
The visit is cancelled and Manfried asks Tony for more help.

Manfried West and Robert Hansen, Nature vs Nurture: Manfried West nicknamed Robert Hansen “The Worm”
This is his story.

Robert Hansen grew up hating his father who constantly subjected him to ridicule and mockery, and a mother who was compliant in the harsh treatment of her son. The bullying Hansen suffered as a child shaped his hatred of women. He was painfully shy, had a stutter and severe acne that left him permanently scarred.
Not receiving the attention he wanted from the attractive girls in school, Hansen grew up hating them and nursing fantasies of cruel revenge.
Robert Hansen doesn't have the same kind of name recognition that someone like Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy does but he was one of the country's most prolific serial killers.
He admitted to a spree of attacks against Alaskan women starting in 1971. Hansen's earliest victims were girls or young women, usually between ages 16 and 19 and not prostitutes. After abducting them, he would either rape them and release them with a warning, or fly them in his personal plane out into a remote location, where he would hunt them like animals and kill them.
Hansen is known to have raped and assaulted over thirty Alaskan women, and to have murdered at least seventeen, ranging in age from 16 to 41.
Hansen slipped through the cracks of justice many times and would have again it if wasn’t for the heroics of victim Cindy Paulson and Detective Glenn Frothe.

Episode 2 Getting to Know Manfried West Part 1 The Early Years Jan 16, 2023

Manfred Forest West was born in 1956 in Jayville New York. He is in prison for murder 2 and other charges.

Manfried grew up angry and mad at life in the backwoods of the mountains in upstate New York.
They lived 4 miles from the nearest neighbors, the deep wilderness became his playground. Creeks, lakes, and old abandoned trail roads, caves and trees. His toys were sticks, old car parts, deer and bear skulls.
Manfred’s Father was a drunk, lived off the land hunting and trapping year-round. The family lived near a large swamp with the sounds of bullfrogs bellyaching all night, until his dad came home drunk. Then it was his turn to get beat.
Manfried remembers the early morning dawn washing over the swamp, hearing the birds sing and wishing that his father was dead.
He ran away at the age of 15, off to town, jail, prison.
Manfried seemed to meet all the wrong people, learn all the wrong things, and he just let himself fall through the cracks of life.
This story however is not how he became a criminal, but how he changed himself into the man he is today.
They say people can’t change, but Manfried West has proved them all wrong.
This is his amazing story.

Season 4 Episode 1 “Finding Megan Emerick” The Beginning Jan 09, 2023

Megan Emerick went missing in 1973 from Anchorage, Alaska and is still listed as a missing person. She was believed to be a victim of serial killer Robert Hansen, and the case still remains open.

This is a long and involved story that covers a lot of years of investigation. Tony and his dad Al will be covering every aspect of this investigation, from its beginnings in 2008 to where we currently are today. Remember what we’ve always said, the wheels of justice move slowly
Tony will share Manfred’s inspirational story of how he beat all the odds and has totally rehabilitated himself while in prison. He is a changed person and Tony and Manfried have developed a close friendship over the last 15 years.

Art tells Tony that Son of Sam David Berkowitz was in a cult and he didn’t commit the murders alone.This was in 2007 and Tony and Al thought this was prison gossip and mainly bullshit. Now it’s thought to be true.

The Mask Of Sanity, is a great term for what these killers use. Think about it, most all of them wore some type of mask,Ted Bundy, Ken Bianchi, Randy Kraft, John Wayne Gacy, Dorothea Puente, Wayne Elmer Henley and the list goes on including our season’s subject Arthur John Shawcross.
Tony will describe a visit with Arthur Shawcross and how his Mask of sanity gradually came off over the two days they spent with him.

Tony points out that all the killers that he deals with are sociopaths and narcissistic, but Arthur John Shawcross is without a doubt the most arrogant killer that I’ve ever dealt with over the past 16 years.
Tony and Al share several of the stories that Arthur wrote about in his letters that show his extreme narcissistic tendencies.

Season 3 Episode 1 Getting To Know Arthur Shawcross Oct 03, 2022

Tony’s first mailing went out to over 40 killers all over the country, and the very first letter that came in was from Arthur John Shawcross, Alias “The Genesee River Killer”

Tony only knew Art for approximately 2 years, but during that short period he opened himself up in ways Tony never imagined. This season Tony will share the story exactly as Shawcross told it. Here’s a small sample of what Tony will share this season:

Art wrote a detailed account of his Early Years and his time in Vietnam. (84 pages) titled “Growing Up in the House Of Sin” It could easily have been titled “The Making of a Serial Killer”.
Art sent Over 100 Letters in less than two years detailing Prison life, his personal attitudes about other prisoners, woman, pen pals, collectors, his personal recipes, sex, and murder.
Art sent Tony a handwritten letter from The Manhunter himself FBI profiler John Douglas along with his business card that he had sent to Art. Tony will share a letter Art sent to him with a letter he received from Keith Jesperson the Happy Face Killer. He calls him a fucking maggot!
Shawcross agreed to describe his killings. Art said he had been asked many times but always said no. He describes in detail each murder.
Phone conversations that have never been heard by anyone but the family. The calls will give you an idea of his narcissism and views on people and life in general.

Season 2 Episode 17 “We Found The Root Cellar” Aug 22, 2022

Tony, Al and Joey were very disappointed after the first trip to Cape Cod in December of 2016. They found the general area of the root cellar so they knew it was there, but they needed a new plan of attack. We began to investigate Ground Penetrating Radar and after much investigation and some disappointments we finally are able to rent a GPR device (Noggin 500) and return to Cape Cod in November of 2018.
We arranged for the GPR equipment to be shipped right to the hotel so it was there when we arrived. We had to assemble the unit and figure out how to use it, we were so excited that after nearly 2 years we were back with the proper equipment to hopefully discover the location of the infamous root cellar.
We wanted to try out the unit, and Hadden’s descriptions all said the root cellar is about 5 to 6 feet deep so we decided a graveyard was the best place to experiment. We found one of Wellfleet’s oldest graveyards and waited until late afternoon when there wouldn’t be anyone there. It was desolate and creepy, but using the GPR over graves gave us a pretty good indication as to what the root cellar would look like.
We retrace our earlier steps and spend 4 days formulating grids and soil slices. During these 4 days we were on the phone with experts in the field of GPR. We had sent so many videos and images and had so many false alarms that we were getting discouraged.
Finally on the 4th day we find an area that is as Hadden described it, and it is at a depth that makes sense. At this point we are pretty sure this is it, so we sent all the new images to Hans and waited to hopefully hear some positive news.
We finally got the call we had been waiting for, Hans said, “after looking at your notes and the data from the GPR I’m sure you guys found what you were looking for.”
It was music to our ears. After over two years, two trips to Cape Cod, and a whole lot of time, work and expense we finally found Hadden’s secret Root cellar. It was late in the day and the sun was going down. The fact that we were standing over the root cellar made the excitement almost unbearable, but at the same time foreboding.

The Mysterious Disappearance of Doreen Vincent Aug 15, 2022

Doreen Vincent

Doreen Vincent disappeared from her father’s house in Wallingford June 15, 1988, never to be seen or heard from again.
With no body and no evidence, police can’t say for certain who may have been responsible for the 12-year-old’s disappearance.
Doreen’s father Mark Hunter Vincent became the prime suspect in her disappearance, much like the case of Michelle Dorr.
On June 15th 1988 Hadden picked up Doreen Vincent in Wallingford Ct. and claims he drove her to a bowling alley. She went missing that day and has never been found.
Hadden mention’s her briefly on a phone call dated 10/10/16.
He never admits to killing her but did say that the information about that day can be found in the root cellar.

Season 2 Episode 15 Part 2 The Mysterious Disappearance of Bonnie Bickwit and Mitch Weiser Aug 08, 2022

On July 27, 1973, Mitchel Weiser, age 16, and his girlfriend Bonita “Bonnie” Bickwit, age 15, both from Brooklyn, New York disappeared somewhere between Narrowsburg and Watkins Glen, New York. Their disappearance on the way back from–or, more likely, on the way to–The Summer Jam Festival has been the subject of speculation, and confusion for nearly half a century. It is one of the most puzzling and most iconic missing persons cases of its era.
In 1973 Hadden was working at Camp Wel-Met. He claims he was supplying Bonnie and other girls with marijuana.
He admits being the last person to see Bonnie before Mitch and her left for the concert.
The case has never been solved.
In Part 2 Tony Ciaglia and his dad Al cover the reactions by the family on what they describe as the non-investigation of the case.
Hadden Clark all but confesses in a letter that is very detailed and tells how he would have gotten rid of the bodies.
In a phone conversation Hadden claims to have taken Bonnie and Mitch on vacation which is his code word for murder.
Tony gives very real scenarios as to why they think that Clark would have murdered the two teenagers.

Season 2 Episode 13 The Sarah Pryor Story Jul 25, 2022

On October 9th, 1985 Sarah Pryor told her father she was going for a walk. She walked along Concord Rd. in Wayland, MA for over a mile and was seen by several witnesses. After this she was never seen again.
In 1995 a skull fragment was discovered by a person walking their dog. It was approximately 3 miles from where Sarah vanished in October, 1985.
The skull fragment was confirmed by DNA testing in January 1998 to be Sarah’s.
The family could finally give little Sarah a proper burial. On January 13th 1998, she was laid to rest on the same day she would have turned 22.
Hadden confessed to this crime, but was never charged.
In letters and phone conversations Hadden speculates about how Sarah died.
Hadden claimed in letters that he was the last person to see her alive, and said “she was a cute girl”.
Once again Hadden says her whole story is in the root cellar.

Season 2 Episode 12 The Lady Of The Dunes Jul 18, 2022

On July 26, 1974, the nude body of a woman was discovered along the shoreline in Provincetown, MA. Because of the serene way in which her body was positioned in the sand dunes, the murder quickly became known as the Lady of the Dunes case. The Lady of the Dunes murder remains unsolved to this day, and is one of the oldest cold cases in Massachusetts.
Hadden Clark claims to have stumbled across the body when he was night fishing. He says he placed her IDs in the root cellar.
Hadden finally admitted that he was a part of the crime, but through letters and phone conversations we will see that the story keeps changing.
The one thing Tony Ciaglia knows for sure is that Hadden was there that night and was somehow involved.
Tony and Al will discuss the many twists and turns that the story has taken as they compare Hadden’s different stories that he has told over the years.
Tony Ciaglia realizes there are only two things that can be verified:
1. Hadden claims that both girls Identification is in the root cellar
2. Hadden says that he wrote in his journal and diary what happened that night. Those journals and diaries are also in the root cellar.

Season 2 Episode 11 “Verification” Jul 11, 2022

Tony Ciaglia, along with his dad Al and brother Joey share the experiences of their trip to Cape Cod.
In exciting and humorous detail they go over details of the trip from start to finish.
Using the maps, letters, clues, land marks and phone recordings they were able to verify that indeed Hadden had led them to the area of the root cellar.
Battling the winter elements, and a forgotten old dirt road they were able to locate the old foundation that Hadden had described.
They finally found their starting point and spent 2 days fighting freezing temperatures, ticks and a steep and treacherous terrain in search of the root cellar.
Upon returning home Tony received a call from Hadden. He was excited that we found all the clues and was acting vindicated because we had grilled him so much on whether the root cellar really existed.
Once again he never changes his story. He verifies the root cellar was right in the area where we had searched.
Hadden again verifies that we will find information on many cases including Bonnie Bickwit and Mitch Weisner, the Race Point Victim Lady of the Dunes, Sarah Pryor and Doreen Vincent.
Hadden Clark’s story is always consistent, The Root Cellar exits and we were in the exact area that it’s located.
Tony, Al and Joey realize they can’t give up until they find it!

Season 2 Episode 10 Trip to Cape Cod Jul 04, 2022

Tony Ciaglia decided in Episode 9 Revelations that they had to make the trip to Cape Cod.
After studying the locations and details of the crimes Hadden was discussing, Tony realized the best place to find the truth is the mysterious root cellar that Clark continuously refers to.
Hadden describes in detail what will be found in the root cellar; women’s ids, wallets, driver licenses, bank checks etc. He also says there are journals that describe what happened to Sarah Pryor, Doreen Vincent, Bonnie and Mitch from Camp Wel Met and the Race Point girl known as “The Lady of the Dunes”.
Over the many years of communicating with Hadden, Tony knows that he loves to document things, and realizes this could be a goldmine of information. Just solving one of these cold cases would be worth the trip to The Cod.
After talking with Hadden we think that the root cellar is real, but because we’re dealing with a serial killer we are always skeptical. We realize that the only way we can be sure is to travel to Cape Cod and follow the trail of clues that Hadden has supplied over the past few years.

Season 2 Episode 8 - The Visits Jun 20, 2022

Over the years Tony and Al had several visits with Hadden. The first visit was shocking because no picture could prepare you for the real Hadden Clark. We were expecting to see this little timid man that preferred being a woman, but before us was a 6 foot reptilian looking man staring at you as his tongue darts back and forth and around his lips. His eyes may be looking at you but in reality he was looking through you.
The first visits were taken up by small talk and stories about prison. Hadden bragged that he won many bets in prison because he would eat anything, spiders, roaches it didn’t matter. He told us a story about how he once killed a seal on Block Island and ate its heart raw.
During later visits he began to open up more as Tony gained his trust. Tony knew he was in for 2 murders, but he always felt there were more. Early on he would ask leading questions about other crimes but Hadden always denied it.
On a visit in 2013 we heard about the root cellar for the first time. When he mentioned it, he said that if anyone stumbled on it he would have federal and state authorities lined up at his cell to talk with him. This peaked Tony’s interest and he began bringing the subject up in letters. Now after almost 15 years of communication Hadden began to open up and send Tony information that would prove to be invaluable in investigating his many crimes.
Hadden Clark says over and over in letters and discussions, “I’m going to be talking about things I’ve never talked to you about, or I might say I didn’t do it but I did do it.”

Season 2 Episode 7 Murder Runs In The Family Jun 13, 2022

In this weeks true crime podcast Tony Ciaglia discusses with Hadden Clark how his older brother Bradfield wound up in prison for murder.
In Los Gatos a small town south of San Francisco in June 1984, Bradfield Clark -- two years older than Hadden -- invited a co-worker Trish Mak to his apartment for dinner. Bradfield tortured and murdered the girl then dismembered her body with a kitchen knife and actually cooked some parts on his BBQ grill. He wrapped the rest of the pieces in garbage bags and stored the bags in his Datsun 200 SX,
Two days later he called the police and turned himself in. In June 1985 Bradfield pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder and was sentenced to 18 years to Life.
Clark was in the Navy at this time and was stationed on a ship in Alameda Ca. close to his brother. Hadden told Tony that he was there the night his brother killed the girl and claims he has never told anyone this. He said his brother was so drunk and drugged up that he doesn’t even remember Hadden being there.
Clark discusses in morbid detail on phone calls and in letters how his brother brutally tortured and murdered the girl.
If this is true and knowing what we know about Hadden he may have helped his brother or even did the killing himself. Hadden was interviewed by the police but as usual had an alibi.

Season 2 Episode 6 The Meriden Ct. Murders Jun 06, 2022

In this thriller podcast Hadden Clark discusses with Tony Ciaglia the murders of girls from around the Meriden Ct. area.
It’s significant because the police took him out of prison to visit these areas and as Hadden points out “If I didn’t give the police good information they never would have taken me on these trips.” Clark says in conversations with Tony that he also identified pictures of certain girls that went missing from that area.
Clark starts off blaming an old friend named Bob Cardinal, claiming he murdered the girls and Hadden just got rid of the bodies for him. Hadden Clark finally admits that Cardinal never murdered anyone, it was all Hadden.
Hadden talks of bars in the floor of his grandfather’s garage, where he would chain the girls and torture them before he killed them. In morbid detail Clark tells Tony Ciaglia how he froze their bodies and used a chain saw to cut them up. He then dumped them in the ocean, and used them for chum.
When Hadden went there with the police the bars were gone so they thought he was a liar. Shockingly they found out from the new owner of the house that the bars had actually been there, and he had removed them.

Season 2 Episode 4 "The First Kill" May 23, 2022

The year was 1964 and at the age of 12 revenge killer Hadden Clark killed his first victim. He drowned a boy at the Woods School, a school for special needs children.
The school thought it was an accident but young serial killer Hadden said if they had done an autopsy they would have found chlorine in the boys lungs from the pool. Hadden had moved the body to a septic tank and made it look like an accident.
FBI profilers have said that Serial Killers love fire and this Murder Phone podcast episode shows that Clark fits this description.
In a letter to Tony Ciaglia, Hadden admits to burning down a historical landmark The Ocean View Hotel on Block Island. Hadden was only 14 years old on July 6th, 1966 when he decided to burn down the famous hotel.
Over the years of communication with Tony, Hadden has described his love of fires and talked of many instances where he set fires just so he could sit and watch the flames burn out of control.

Season 2 Episode 3 “Bible Study” May 16, 2022

In this episode of our true crime podcast you’ll hear serial killer Hadden Clark describe how and why he murdered Laura Houghteling. Laura’s mom Penny Houghteling had hired Hadden to do yard work and odd jobs around the house. He became very close to her and actually fantasized about her being his mother.
When Laura graduated from Harvard and moved home she didn’t like or trust Hadden. During this time Hadden became increasingly jealous of Laura’s close relationship with her mother.
A necklace went missing and Laura blamed Hadden for it so Penny fired him. Penny was going out of town for business so Hadden Clark “The Beast” took over and used this opportunity to get even.
Hadden admits to psychologically torturing Laura for over three hours in her room before he suffocated her. The suspense builds as Clark describes being dressed in Laura’s clothes and wearing a wig while messing with her mind.
This proved to be a method that he used many times over the years and he would morbidly call it “Bible Study”. Clark would actually dress in their clothes and make the victim swear on a bible that he was her and she was him.
