On the night of November 8th 2010, a 24-year-old woman named Jennifer walked downstairs into the living room of her parents' house to say goodnight to her mother. But before she walked over to the couch where her mother was to give her a hug, Jennifer noticed something moving outside on the dark street. Jennifer stopped where she was and looked out the window, but she couldn't see anything unusual. So she walked over to the front door and looked out the little window on it, and after staring out into the street for a few moments, she decided she must not have seen anything at all. So she walked back over to her mother, who had noticed her looking outside and had a look of concern on her face, and Jennifer just said, "Oh, I thought I saw something moving out there, but it was nothing." Then the 2 women said goodnight, and Jennifer headed up stairs and went to sleep. It would turn out, there actually was something moving around outside the house. And about 30 minutes after Jennifer had gone back upstairs, the thing she saw made its way across the street, up their stairs, and into their house... right up to Jennifer's room.

Jealousy, revenge, romantic triangles, robberies, sexual assault, and disputes during drug transactions are the most common motives and circumstances surrounding nearly all homicides. But the homicide that takes place in today's episode will not fall into any of those categories. Instead, it will fall into a category that most people don't realize actually exists. Needless to say, be careful of who you spend your time around, because not everyone is who they appear to be.

Early in the morning of October 3rd, 1994, a woman, living in Eugene, Oregon, woke up in her first floor bedroom to the sound of screaming coming from somewhere on the other side of her house. She thought the noise must be coming from her TV set in the living room, but as she stepped into the hallway, she realized this was not the case. The screaming was coming from an actual person, who sounded like they might be in her garage. So she ran down the hall, across the living room and over to the door that led into the garage, and she flung it open. Seconds later, this woman would be living a nightmare.

This story is a fan favorite that was previously published as Episode 72.
In 1982, a young woman walked up a flight of stairs to her friend’s apartment, and knocked on the door. As she did, she noticed the little window on the door was broken. Worried something was wrong with her friend, the woman knocked again, this time a little louder, while also peering through the broken window to see if she could see anything. There was nothing really to see, but she could hear music playing inside. So after another minute went by and still her friend had not come to the door, the woman tried the door handle and found it was open. With her heart racing, the woman opened her friend’s door and stepped inside. A few seconds later, she would see something so horrible, it would send her running back outside to safety.

On the morning of January 25, 2012, a police officer walked towards an abandoned Mercedes-Benz SUV in an old neighborhood in East Detroit. This neighborhood was known as a den for drug dealers and heroin users. The officer looked in the back window of the SUV and squinted to get a better look inside... and what he saw left him in shock. And what the officer found in the backseat of that Mercedes would stun the most experienced cops, and would lead investigators into a hidden world in the wealthy suburbs of Detroit – a world of lies, betrayal... and BDSM.
