Athletes Who Ride Series Show Page

    ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

We're working hard here at Mountain Bike Radio to focus on everyone. For too long, the "average" rider has been forgotten, lost in a world of elite and pro riders. The reality is that we all need to focus on a well rounded life and fitness routine to ensure that we can enjoy the ride for a long time. Listen in as we kick off this new series to help you be and feel your best.

    About Scott Jones:

Scott's Experience: After graduating from Marshall University with my M.S. in exercise physiology I headed west to Colorado, starting my career as the Head Of Sports Performance for the HIT Center. After the first year I went off on my own and have since worked over 13,000 one on one sessions with athletes of all levels and backgrounds including Olympic level athletes, professional athletes, adaptive athletes, youth, recreational, and lifestyle athletes!

Scott's Coaching Philosophy: The science of exercise and the art of coaching combined with the evolved belief that everyone is an athlete drive the coaching and development of every athlete I work with. Don't think you are an athlete? It's my goal to teach and train you otherwise.

Scott's Personal Summary: I moved to Colorado the month after I received my Masters Degree and haven't budged. I found my wife sitting next to me on a chairlift on a powder day in Breckenridge chomping on a blueberry pancake. We did 7 weeks in SE Asia for our honeymoon, and now have two amazing boys. We are both born with a passion for moving, adventure, and getting others excited about these things! I just started a more personal Instagram feed if ya wanna stalk me a bit before hiring me! Check it out HERE.

    MBR & - "John Burke - 12 Simple Solution to Save America FLASHBACK" (August 28, 2017 #FLASHBACK) Aug 28, 2017
    Show notes

    August 28, 2017

    MBR& Show Page

    ABOUT THIS EPISODE

John Burke is the President of Trek and wants the best for everyone at Trek, as well as the entire country. He has tremendous experience working with people and enjoys reading and current events. Throughout his life, he's been interested in learning from other leaders and taking action himself.

In this episode, John shares his life and experience during his early years at Trek and some of the early lessons that have contributed to his current status. Then John discusses his newest book, 12 Simple Solutions to Save America. Listen in for some good perspective from one of the cycling industry's leaders about how we can help change the country for the better.

About the book, 12 Simple Solutions to Save America:

"In 2011, John Burke attended his son's graduation ceremony at Marquette University. Author David McCullough was the commencement speaker, and he gave some advice that day that really stuck with Burke. Those words were: "at some point, do something for your country." That evening, Burke began to think about what he could do for his country. For years he had been disappointed by the Government's inability to solve any of the big issues our country faced.

It was that evening on the drive home from his son's graduation ceremony that Burke decided he would write a book about the big problems America faces and solutions to fix those issues. In 12 Simple Solutions to Save America, Burke talks candidly about what he believes should serve as America's core values and offers 12 simple solutions to some of the most complex problems that America faces."
