What fuels the economy of God?

Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus reveals the power of work, responsibility and trust in this impactful message.

Through the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25, Pastor Erwin unwraps biblical truths that can change how we create and shape our lives.

Many followers of Jesus believe they want to know God‘s will for their lives so they can be faithful.

In reality, we can often spend our lives seeking out God’s will so we don’t have to be responsible for taking ownership of the talent, skill and intellect God has given us.

Pastor Erwin shares that when we are immature in our faith, our conversation with God centers around if God can be trusted. When we mature in our faith, we realize the conversation has always been about if we can be trusted.

If you’re ready to live a life that reflects the character of Jesus, this message is for you!

Masterpiece - Artisan Soul | From The Archives Nov 22, 2022

Show notes

As we wrap up this series on the Artisan Soul, Pastor Erwin McManus delivers a passionate message on Masterpiece God gave us called life.

Throughout Jesus' life, he told parables, metaphors and images to show his disciples that he was going to die. But they could only interpret death in the terms they knew, which were finite.

Jesus reminds us that our life is supposed to be a work of art and his canvas is the human spirit.

Jesus life was a walking art installation of Life. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he said to him I am the life. There’s nothing to fear in death. There’s nothing to fear in life. The only proof of life after death, is life before death and what we really long for is life before death.

This message is inspired by Artisan Soul, Erwin Raphael McManus' book that calls us to reclaim our creative essence as humans.

Foundation Sunday Nov 15, 2022

Show notes

The church is a movement, not an institution.

In this electric message for Mosaic’s Foundation Sunday, Lead Pastor Erwin McManus unpacks how movements are marked by generosity.

Former slaves in the book of Exodus were instructed to stop bringing gifts to build a new sanctuary because the workers were overwhelmed with the amount of offerings.

They had internalized a priceless insight: we should bring gifts to God in proportion to the way he has blessed us.

Their freedom compelled them to give.

Are we, people whose lives have been changed by the freedom of Jesus, just as compelled to give?

Pastor Erwin challenges us that God harnesses the power of the willing to bring the mission of Jesus to the world.

Whether we are nurses, teachers, or writers, we have the opportunity to bring an abundance of life through our personal brushstrokes on life's canvas.

Alignment Oct 24, 2022

Is your soul filled with:

Fear?

Doubt?

Insignificance?

Feeling unworthy of love?

We can label these symptoms as sociological, economical or cultural – but Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin reveals they are actually indicators that our soul is out of alignment with God.

Many of the stories in the Bible are about people who are out of alignment; their struggles and successes provide a blueprint for us to learn from their mistakes.

From Acts 7:29, Pastor Erwin unwraps the story of Moses to illustrate what a life out of alignment looks like – and how we can mirror Moses’ journey to realign ourselves with God.

We must let our brokenness be seen with transparency, take on God’s character as we move in his intention, and learn to see the pain of those around us. Above all, we must recognize that we will be out of alignment until we step into our God-given assignment.

If you’re ready to move into your purpose and walk it out in step with Jesus, this message is for you!

The Power Of Being Fully Present Oct 17, 2022

Show notes

Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus brings a new message on ‘The Power of Being Fully Present,’ recorded live at Mosaic South Pasadena.

Do you find yourself caught reminiscing on the past or daydreaming about the future while the moment you are in passes you by?

Pastor Erwin challenges us to master the power of being fully present.

Drawing from Isaiah 43, Pastor Erwin uses the example of the Israelites to show what happens when God wants to move with strength in the present while His people are stuck in the past or anxious about the future.

God is always ushering in the new. Pastor Erwin reminds us to not grow discouraged when we don’t see His movement in our lives; often we are just looking for Him in the wrong place.

To harness the power of being fully present, you must put your past in the past, fight the fight you are in, and trust God to see what you cannot see.

Your past, whether beautiful or painful, cannot thrive in the future. Your future cannot be experienced today, so why waste your life in fear, anxiety, or dissatisfaction with your present?

If you need to discover how to be where you are and bring all of yourself to your present moment, this message is for you!‘

Craft - Artisan Soul | From The Archives Oct 11, 2022

Show notes

Pastor Erwin McManus delivers a challenging message on the importance of developing our craft.

In Ephesians 4, God commands us to be creators and not to settle for consuming or stealing from others. Because we are created by God, we're meant to create and add value to the world around us through the discipline of work.

As Christians, many of us have picked up the belief that if we have been called by God to do something, it should come naturally to us. On the contrary, Erwin reminds us that it is up to us to turn our talent into greatness through hard work.

If you've been waiting for a moment of magic to transform your talent into greatness, be encouraged that you don't have to wait for magic -- you can start to build the momentum you long for today.

This message is inspired by Artisan Soul, Erwin Raphael McManus' book that calls us to reclaim our creative essence as humans.

Fresh Start - Fueled By Faith Oct 03, 2022

Show notes

Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus closes out our Fresh Start series with an inspiring message on how you can live “Fueled by Faith!”

Why does faith feel superhuman?

Pastor Erwin reminds us that we were created by God to live with faith and that it is faith that makes us human. We are the only species that is made to hope in things we cannot yet see.

In fact, Hebrews chapter 11 makes it clear that living a life without faith makes it impossible to please God. Pastor Erwin challenges us to live a life pursuing an invisible future we cannot yet see, instead of settling for the safety and predictability of what we have today.

We must let go of what we have to take hold of what we hope for!

If you are searching for the faith to step into a fresh start, this message is for you!

Voice Makers of Fire - Artisan Soul | From The Archives Sep 27, 2022

Show notes

In this week’s episode, Pastor Erwin McManus points out the fascinating way that God inhabits our lives — whether we’ve already given our lives to Him or not.

In a conversation with a self-identified atheist, Erwin was asked how to hear the voice of God. He answered that it’s the voice in your head that simply won’t leave you alone. And even more, when we’ve given our lives to God, that voice becomes the continual invitation to an expansive life that is full of imagination.

We’re compelled to ask ourselves if we are engaging the creative power that God has given us to make the invisible visible. Are we engaging the ideas God keeps reminding us to pursue, or are we living small lives that are filled with fear?

If you’ve been waiting for a green light when it comes to engaging your God-given dreams and imagination, this is it.

This message is inspired by Artisan Soul, Erwin Raphael McManus' book that calls us to reclaim our creative essence as humans.
