    How do you solve a murder without a body? How do you catch a serial killer when all you have is a long list of missing persons reports? On September 1st 1998 a chance encounter ended up with an arrest that, after some questioning, put away a serial killer in Poughkeepsie, New York that may have otherwise taken years to solve.

    When you enter a hospital, you go with the intention of walking out better than when you walked in. On August 29th 1962 a man was born who would go on to become a well-regarded, and respected nurse at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Long Island. A man who, as people would soon realize, left his patients far worse then they were when they arrived.

    The 1960s was a time when women turned in their aprons for a briefcase and a paycheck. It was an unprecedented time and women who chose a career were seen as pioneers. They were also seen as targets. On August 28th 1963 2 women well on their way to a successful career, found their lives, and futures, snuffed out in a case that sent New York City women into a tailspin.

    August 27th: Raman Raghav Arrested (1968)

    During the mid-1960s those living in the slums outside of Mumbai were living in fear. They carried weapons and swung at the slightest sound as they attempted to protect themselves from the monster living amongst them. On August 27th 1968 their fears were finally lifted when one of the most prolific serial killers India has ever seen was finally arrested.

    August 26th: Benjamin Atkins Born (1968)

    Serial killers usually take their time perfecting their craft. Not many accelerate their murders at rapid rates out of fear of growing careless and slipping up. On August 26th 1968 a man was born who would murder, torture and rape 11 women in just 9 months. A man who hated sex workers and decided to take it upon himself to get the off the streets.
