December 4th: Gary Mark Gilmore Born (1940)

We would all love to believe in rehabilitation. That just because someone makes some poor decisions, doesn’t mean our society should give up on them. Especially if those decisions start out as small, pettier crimes. But, what happens when those decisions, those crimes, happen over, and over, and over again, getting worse along the way. Should we continue letting them leave the confines of prion? On December 4th 1940 a man was born who started out small and ended with the murder of 2 strangers.

What happens when an inmate is released from prison? Well, if we are honest, many assume it’s only a matter of time before they reoffend and are sent back. But it’s that way of thinking that makes rehabilitation impossible. On December 2nd 1999 a man made a horrible decision that would take the life of the little girl he loved.
