    The Murder of A Good Man - January 23 2022 - Todays True Crime Jan 23, 2022
    Show notes

January 23rd: Murder of Willie Edwards (1957) Our history is filled with dark events. And, perhaps, some of the darkest involved the thousands of lynchings committed against completely innocent men, women, and children, who were judged by the color of their skin, the religion they practiced, sexuality, and general difference. On January 23rd 1957 a young man with so much brightness in his future disappeared into the night only to have his abductors, his admitted murderers, walk freely for the rest of their lives.

    A Sudden and Terrible Rage - January 22 2022 - Todays True Crime Jan 22, 2022
    Show notes

January 22nd: Eric Smith Born (1980) When we think cold blooded, vicious, murder we often think of large, looming, and terrifying men whom we cross the rode to avoid. We don’t often think of small, innocent looking children with glasses, freckles, and red unkempt hair. On January 22nd 1980 a killer was born who would take a life just as he reached his teen years. A boy who some think is a cold blooded danger to society and others think needs to be placed in a facility and treated for a rare mental illness.

    Show notes

January 20th: Southside Strangler Arrested (1988) We talk a lot about DNA and how it can help solve even the coldest of cases. But, DNA can also set an innocent person free after circumstances, and false confessions, land him or her behind prison walls. On January 20th 1988 a man was arrested in connection to crimes committed by the Southside Strangler. And, with his arrest and DNA sample, came the exoneration of a man who had been behind bars for a handful of years.

    A Murder in Quiet Neighborhood - January 14 2021 - Todays True Crime Jan 14, 2022
Show notes January 14th: Charles Rice Sentenced to Death (2002)

In some cases, the only person providing the details of a case, the details of someone’s murder, is the killer themselves. On January 14th 2002 a man was sentenced to death for a crime that, at the end of the day, only has his version of the story being told. A version that, of course, doesn’t name him as the murderer. A version that cannot be argued because the only other person who can contest, was the victim of the crime.
