Show notes

May 24th: Francisco Garcia Escalero Born (1948) There are some stories we tell where the macabre personality of a killer is not revealed until their crimes come to light or they are much older. On May 24th 1948 a young boy was born who, from the very beginning, showed an obsession with death and with the dead. A boy who, in his 30s, would go on an 8 year killing spree and give in to the voices in his head and their desire for a human life.

A mass killing that, after reading and hearing his manifesto, left much of the world confused, hurt, and angry in his absence.

May 18th: Herb Coddington Arrested (1987) Some people look for signs in the strangest places. On May 18th 1987 a man was arrested who committed heinous crimes because he felt that God was directly communicating with him. And, in that communication, told him that he needed to kidnap, rape, and kill young girls and anyone who got in his way. One of which never got to see life in her teens, let alone adulthood.

May 17th: Eriksson Twin Bus Incident (2008) Some true crime mysteries offer some far-fetched and out of this world theories. On May 17th 2008 two women, twins, became front page news in a story that, to this day, lacks enough explanation for many to feel as though it is closed. A case that, though a mystery, comes with theories that become almost as interesting as the case itself.

The East Middle Berry Does - May 15 2022 May 15, 2022

Show notes

May 15th: East Middlebury Murders (1935) Cold cases can be extremely frustrating to hear about. And, as we can imagine, it’s even more frustrating for the investigators involved in the cases themselves. On May 15th 1935 three bodies were found in Vermont that, to this day, don’t have an identity. A frustrating fact for the investigators, and the detectives who took over after them, who have been working the case for 87 years.
