MTM - Interview with Larry Lawrence. Christophers Hope Sep 26, 2026

A teenager can be loved, funny, respectful at school, and still be in real danger. We talk with Larry Lawrence about Christopher, the son he and his wife adopted and adored, and the heartbreaking day they lost him to suicide at 14. Larry shares what Christopher was like day to day, how impulsivity and depression showed up over time, and what it means to live with questions you cannot rewind and fix. If you are a parent, educator, pastor, or friend trying to understand youth mental health, this conversation stays honest without turning grief into a sound bite.
We also dig into what helped their family keep going, including faith, community support, and the hard truth that grieving is the cost of loving. We name something many people feel but rarely say out loud: joy and grief can coexist. You can move forward without “getting over” your child, and you can carry hope without denying pain.
Out of that loss, Larry and his wife helped bring Hope Squad to South Carolina, a school based, peer nominated program focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. We break down how Hope Squad works, why students often tell friends first, and what peers can do when they see warning signs. Larry also shares the IS PATH WARM mnemonic, explains why asking “Are you thinking about killing yourself?” can actually bring relief, and discusses the troubling overlap between suicide warning signs and school shooter warning signs.

    DWDP-Gen 16:1-19 The God Who Sees Sep 23, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

A single sentence can sound wise and still steer your life off a cliff: “God helps those who help themselves.” We open Genesis 16 and watch Sarai and Abram do what so many of us feel tempted to do under pressure, take control, speed up the timeline, and manufacture an outcome that God never asked for.
As we read the story verse by verse, we sit with the real anguish of infertility, the longing behind Sarai’s decision, and the painful power imbalance Hagar endures. We also talk honestly about surrogacy, both the first recorded arrangement in Scripture and the modern ethical questions that surface when pregnancy becomes a contract: Who protects the vulnerable, what happens when plans change, and how do adults explain life-altering decisions to a child later? This is Bible teaching that meets today’s headlines without flinching.
Then the scene shifts to the wilderness, where everything gets quiet and personal. God finds Hagar by a spring, calls her by name, and reveals Himself as El Roi, the God who sees. That name becomes the hinge of the message: God sees the overlooked, God hears the desperate, and God stays faithful even when our shortcuts create chaos. We close with a challenge from Hebrews 6:12, to inherit God’s promises through faith and patience, not panic.

    MTM-Interview with R. Terrell..Are UFO's Demonic? Sep 19, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

A Pentagon “UFO” data release lands, the internet lights up, and suddenly the question is everywhere: are we finally being told the truth about aliens? We sit down with writer and New American contributor Rebecca Terrell to look past the hype and ask a sharper question what if the biggest impact of UFO disclosure isn’t scientific, but spiritual?
We walk through what was released, why the timing of popular “disclosure” media matters, and why multiple researchers have argued for decades that the phenomenon behaves less like visitors from another planet and more like a deception aimed at human belief. Rebecca shares sources ranging from secular investigators like Jacques Vallée and John Keel to Christian clergy who connect “alien abduction” style accounts with classic descriptions of demonic oppression. We also examine claims about occult rituals, “portals,” and why dabbling in the occult is treated in historic Christianity as an invitation to spiritual harm, not harmless curiosity.
Then we bring it back to the core theological test: if Jesus Christ died once for all, what happens to the storyline of advanced extraterrestrials arriving with a new gospel, a new peace, or a new “promised one”? For us, the issue isn’t winning an argument online. It’s keeping a clear moral compass, rejecting fear-driven narratives, and holding fast to the claim that Christ is King over our personal lives and the wider world.

    DWDP-Gen 15: 8-21 Promise Renewed, Prophecy Revealed, Propitiation Predicted Sep 16, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Abram believes God, then asks a question many of us are almost afraid to say out loud: “How can I know?” We sit with that moment in Genesis 15:8–21 and trace how God responds not with shame, but with a covenant that speaks in blood, symbols, and unstoppable grace. Along the way, we slow down and explain the ancient covenant ritual of divided sacrifices and what it meant for two parties to walk between the pieces.
Then the passage gets even more intense: the waiting, the circling birds of prey, the deep sleep, and the terror of great darkness. We connect Abram driving the birds away to the ongoing reality of spiritual warfare, and we listen as God reveals a prophetic timeline: Israel’s future slavery in a foreign land, His judgment on Egypt, and a deliverance so complete they leave with possessions. We also wrestle with God’s patience and sovereignty over nations, including the delayed judgment on the Amorites.
Finally, the center of the whole scene: a smoking firepot and a flaming torch pass between the pieces, representing God’s presence. Abram does not walk the path. God does, which is why this promise is unconditional. We tie that truth to the gospel with clear, hope-filled language: our rescue is “all of God and none of me,” fulfilled in Jesus Christ, our Passover Lamb, who delivers us from bondage to sin by grace through faith. MTM-Interview with Dr. Matt Clark..Personhood Perspective on Lindsay Clancy Trial Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

A jury can’t agree after three children are killed, and the public conversation quickly turns into something bigger than one tragic home. We sit down with Dr. Matt Clark, CEO of Personhood South Carolina, to face the Lindsay Clancy mistrial head-on and ask what it reveals about how our culture defines guilt, compassion, and the worth of a child.
We walk through the major claims surrounding postpartum depression, psychiatric medication, and the growing readiness to treat mothers as “only victims” even when the facts point to intentional violence. From there, we connect the dots to the broader pro-life and abortion debate, including how abortion pills and decades of messaging have shaped Christian and political instincts about accountability. We also talk about a disturbing consistency in modern medical ethics: if a child’s right to live depends on being wanted before birth, what logically changes after birth?
We keep coming back to biblical personhood: every human being is made in the image of God, and the law should protect life without exceptions based on size, location, health, or convenience. We also draw a firm line between real compassion and a false compassion that tries to erase guilt. If you care about justice, the insanity defense, postpartum mental health, and equal protection under law, this conversation will challenge you.

    DWDP-Gen 15: 1-6 Abrams Faith Credited as Righteousness Sep 09, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Fear has a way of shrinking our world down to one hot question: “What happens to me next?” Abram asks it in Genesis 15 when he looks at his childless home and wonders what God’s promises could possibly mean. We open the text slowly and let God’s first words set the tone: “Do not fear… I am a shield… your reward shall be very great.” Then we track the moment that changes everything, Genesis 15:6, where Abram believes the Lord and God credits that faith as righteousness.
Along the way, we talk plainly about how the word of the Lord comes to us now. Most of us are not getting visions, but we are surrounded by God’s voice when Scripture is read, preached, and taught, and when we pick up the Bible ourselves. That raises an uncomfortable question for families: are we training our children and grandchildren to read God’s Word, or training them to scroll? We also touch Amos’s warning about a famine of hearing the Word, and why Bible literacy is not a hobby but a lifeline for faith and life.
The core takeaway is simple and life-changing: God gives what we need most. He doesn’t promise Abram health, wealth, or fame; He credits righteousness. We connect that to the gospel message in the New Testament, that Jesus who knew no sin becomes sin for us so we can become the righteousness of God in Him. If you’ve been trying to earn your way into peace, this devotion points you to grace through faith and the finished work of Christ.

    MTM-Free the Snowflakes Sep 05, 2026

IVF forces a question most of us would rather avoid: when does “helping” become “taking over”? We open with a Christian framework that refuses to treat human reproduction as a closed system of lab steps and success rates, because Scripture keeps pulling us back to a bigger reality, God is sovereign, God gives life, and God’s Word sets the boundary lines even when our emotions and our culture demand exceptions.
We walk through Genesis with Jacob, Rachel, and Leah to show how infertility can intensify jealousy, desperation, and blame, and why Jacob’s words still land like a hammer: “Am I in the place of God?” That moment becomes a mirror for modern assisted reproductive technology. If God superintends conception, what does that mean for in vitro fertilization, embryo creation, embryo selection, surrogacy, and the quiet normalizing of freezing human lives in cryopreservation?
From there, we lay out a clear Christian ethics of IVF rooted in the image of God and the sanctity of life from conception. We argue that embryos, including embryos in a Petri dish, are neighbors with intrinsic value, not property or leftovers of a process. We also move into practical, concrete next steps: defending embryonic life against unjust violence, pushing for equal protection legislation, and considering embryo adoption, including snowflake adoption, for families who have frozen embryos.
If this challenges you, that’s the point. Listen, pray, share this with a friend, and subscribe, leave a review, and pass it along to someone who needs a grounded, biblical perspective on IVF and embryo adoption.

    DWDP-Gen 14: 19-24 Abram Gave Him a Tenth of All.. Sep 02, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Abram comes home from battle with every reason to take the credit and take the money, and then he does something that still confronts us today: he gives a tenth to Melchizedek and refuses to let the king of Sodom claim, “I made Abram rich.” That single scene in Genesis 14:19-24 opens a bigger conversation about tithing, generosity, and Christian stewardship that is less about math and more about who you believe owns heaven and earth.
We walk through why Abram’s tithe happens before the law of Moses, why that matters for the “tithing is Old Testament” debate, and how gratitude changes the way we hold what we have. Along the way, we connect giving to the heart of the gospel through John 3:16, because God’s love is expressed through giving, not taking. We also sit with Jesus’ command in Luke 6:38 and the hard-to-believe promise that you cannot outgive God.
Then we get practical. We break down the growth pattern that turns generosity into a stable part of discipleship: duty, discipline, desire, and delight. We talk about starting with ten percent, learning to give cheerfully, and asking honest questions about what our spending reveals. The closing challenge is simple and sharp: are you just tipping God?

MTM- What's the Problem with IVF? Aug 29, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

IVF is sold as a miracle, but the fine print often lives in a lab, not a brochure. We sit down with Dr. Robert Jackson, physician and storyteller, as he opens his “rusty, dusty scrapbook” and recounts a tense exam-room moment with a couple who wants a referral for in vitro fertilization. The question isn’t only “Can we get pregnant?” It’s also “What will IVF ask us to accept, fund, and live with afterward?”
We break down what assisted reproductive technology looks like in real life: weeks of hormones, egg retrieval, fertilization (including ICSI), embryo culture, grading, and the routine creation of multiple embryos for every hoped-for live birth. We talk about the moral and ethical issues many listeners never hear explained clearly, including embryo discard, indefinite embryo freezing, donation to destructive research, and the practice clinics call “selective reduction.” We also examine genetic testing, the problem of false positives in some screening, and how fear can steer parents toward irreversible choices.
Then we zoom out to the bigger questions: What are the health risks linked with IVF pregnancies, what legal gaps leave embryos unprotected, and what happens when a freezer fails or when sex selection becomes part of the process? If you’ve wrestled with infertility, supported a friend through it, or wondered how Christians should think about IVF ethics, this conversation gives you language, facts, and a framework for honest reflection. DWDP- Gen 14: 10-20 Melchizedek Greets Abram Aug 26, 2026
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

A mysterious priest-king steps onto the page of Genesis for a moment and somehow ends up shaping how we understand Jesus for the rest of the Bible. We open Genesis 14:17-20 and meet Melchizedek, King of Salem and priest of God Most High, as he brings bread and wine, blesses Abram, and receives a tenth. If you’ve ever wondered why this brief scene carries so much weight, we walk through the details that make it unforgettable.
We explore what Melchizedek’s name and title reveal: King of Righteousness and King of Peace, words that echo the identity and work of Jesus Christ. We also slow down over the blessing that calls God “Most High” and “possessor of heaven and earth,” a direct challenge to the many pagan powers of Canaan and a reminder that the Creator rules over every nation and every ruler. Along the way, we connect that truth to the story of Nebuchadnezzar and the sobering lesson that God knows how to humble pride until we finally acknowledge who he is.
Then we tackle the big question Christians still debate: is Melchizedek a type of Christ or a theophany, an Old Testament appearance of the Lord Jesus? Psalm 110 and Hebrews 5–7 frame Jesus as our permanent, living High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” and Hebrews 7:3 gives a description that pushes us to think carefully. We end with a practical challenge: study the Word for yourself, stay united on the essentials, give liberty on the non-essentials, and practice charity in all things. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review, then tell us where you land on Melchizedek: type or theophany?
