Inside The Alex Jones Trial - The Rundown With Mosh Aug 04, 2022

It has been a wild week in the defamation trial of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. That includes the Sandy Hook parents directly confronting Jones, the judge repeatedly lecturing at him about lying and Wednesday’s revelation that Jones’ attorneys accidentally sent all of his texts and emails to the opposing attorneys.

For years, the extremist right-wing host has accused victims of the 2012 school massacre of being actors, and claimed the attack was a “false flag” event perpetrated by the government to push gun control. It is just one of the dozens of conspiracy theories he promotes on his platforms on a regular basis. The families of some of the Sandy Hook victims are suing him for defamation and damages for years of harassment and abuse they have faced from followers of Jones.

We are devoting this episode to the trial, as a Texas jury now considers whether Jones should pay Sandy Hook families up to $150 million for the emotional distress and reputational harm caused by his false claims.

Adam Klasfeld, the managing editor of Law and Crime, is covering the trial and joined Mo News as our guest for the full episode. We discuss the latest dramatic developments and what comes next for Jones and the families.

Sledge speaks candidly about the trauma of war and the mental health toll it has taken on tens of thousands of veterans.

Summer is heating up but we're deep in a "crypto winter." Cryptocurrencies are having their worst year in a decade. The leading currency, Bitcoin, is down more than 70% from it's all-time high last November and the overall crypto market has lost nearly $2 trillion in value. At the same time, some crypto banks and so-called "stable coins" have gone bankrupt and several companies are laying off workers.

Crypto skeptics are reveling and saying "I told you so," while the hardcore HODL'ers say it will come back even stronger! So what is going to happen?

Mosheh interviews crypto-journalist and the author of the "Crypto Uncomplicated" newsletter, Zack Guzman. They talk about crypto’s past, what popped the bubble, how bad it might get, how to keep your investment safe and what the future looks like in this space. Supreme Court Insider Perspective - A Conversation with Jan Crawford on the Abortion Decision Jun 27, 2022

As we continue to determine the fallout of Friday's Supreme Court decision, Mosheh speaks to CBS Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford for insight into the rulings and what they mean for the future of abortion in America as well as issues like same-sex marriage, IVF and contraception.

Crawford has nearly three decades of experience covering the court. She has a law degree from the University of Chicago and has reported on the Supreme Court for the Chicago Tribune, PBS, ABC and CBS News. When Mosheh last spoke to her in January, she predicted that the court would overturn Roe v Wade and so there was no one better to get perspective on how the decision went down.

Crawford brings clarity to the various opinions, why Roberts is effectively on an island, why Justice Thomas brought up things like same sex marriage and contraception in his solo opinion and whether it even matters. She then goes into what the various states might do next and brings a fascinating perspective to the history of the original Roe decision and how it may have actually hurt abortion rights long-term.

They also spoke about whether cameras may come to the Supreme Court, concerns about the safety of the justices, the fate of the leak investigation and what to make of the accusations the justices lied in their confirmation hearings. It's a must-listen.

The Supreme Court on Friday overruled Roe v Wade, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion. It is a landmark ruling that will send the issue back to the states and create a patchwork of laws, as well as reshape the nation's politics.

Mosheh spoke with Sharon McMahon (@sharonsaysso) hours after the decision to break down the ruling, its implications on abortion law across the country and the future of the Supreme Court. They also go into new polling showing three out of four Americans no longer trust the court and how this decision could impact future elections.
