Fighter vs. Writer: Belal Muhammad Expects Khamzat Chimaev Next; Corey Anderson Confident He’s Now the No. 1 Light Heavyweight in MMA Apr 19, 2022
    Show notes

Belal Muhammad and Corey Anderson join episode 32 of The Fighter vs. The Writer to discuss their fights from this past weekend.

Muhammad joins the show after a statement win over Vicente Luque in the UFC Vegas 51 main event, which also avenged a loss from their first meeting back in 2016. Muhammad will address the game plan he used to beat Luque while also discussing what comes next for him in a busy welterweight division including a potential matchups against Khamzat Chimaev and why he believes that will be his next fight rather than Colby Covington.

Corey Anderson will also stop by to detail what happened in his fight against Vadim Nemkov, which ended in controversial fashion following an accidental clash of heads that led to a no contest.

Despite the anticlimactic ending does Anderson still feel like he did enough to prove himself as the best light heavyweight in the sport plus when he expects to see Nemkov again in the rematch.

All this and more on the latest episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer.

On To the Next One | Matches To Make After UFC Vegas 51 Apr 17, 2022
    Show notes

The Belal Muhammad train kept chugging along at UFC Vegas 51 after he gained a measure of revenge over Vicente Luque, the only man to ever finish him. "Remember the Name" is unbeaten in eight straight fights now and he went for a big callout after his win, targeting the infamous Colby Covington. Is this the right matchup for Muhammad or is there another path to the top of the welterweight division for him?

On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, we figure out what's next for Muhammad and the rest of Saturday's main card winners, which featured a bevy of newcomers and up-and-comers. Is it too early to start pushing Caio Borralho? What fun fights are ahead for Andre Fialho and Mayra Bueno Silva? And is it time for Pat Sabatini to face the grappling GOAT of the featherweight division? We answer these questions and more in a special edition of OTTNO as Alexander K. Lee is joined by guest matchmaker Jed Meshew who promised to bring the chaos hammer with his fight selections.

UFC Vegas 51 + Bellator 277 Post-Fight Show | Biggest Winners, Losers of a Bizarre MMA Weekend Apr 17, 2022
    Show notes

Well, that was certainly something. MMA Fighting's Shaun Al-Shatti, José Youngs, and Jed Meshew react to a bizarre MMA weekend that featured a cornucopia of absurdity between UFC Vegas 51 and Bellator 277, in which Belal Muhammad's main event win over Vicente Luque was practically the only fight that didn't come with a little bit of controversy.

Is Muhammad a main player now in the UFC welterweight division? Did the judges get it right for Patricio Pitbull vs. A.J. McKee 2? Was there any more ridiculous way for Bellator's light heavyweight grand prix to end other than Corey Anderson vs. Vadim Nemkov's no contest? The crew hits every angle coming out of the latest MMA double-header.
