With MLB's Opening Day on March 30, Triple-A Opening Day on March 31 and the rest of the Minor League schedule getting underway on April 6, there was a lot of excitement for this week's MLB Pipeline Podcast. Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo and Jason Ratliff took a look at top prospects set to make their big league debuts on Opening Day, led by two of the top five: the Cardinals' Jordan Walker and the Yankees' Anthony Volpe. Jim chatted with Rangers' No. 2 prospect Evan Carter and then the guys broke down the recently released farm system rankings before finishing things off with a listener mailbag question.

Guardians pitching prospect Tanner Bibee joins the show, and the guys highlight some of the best fastballs in the Minors before answering a mailbag question about Cardinals No. 1 prospect Jordan Walker.

Jonathan talks with Angels 2022 first-round pick Zach Neto during his stop in their camp in Tempe, then the guys pick the top farm systems in the Central and West divisions now that all of the Top 30 lists are out before turning their sights to the best prospects heading to the World Baseball Classic. The Worst Episode Ever Mar 01, 2023

In an episode that Jim Callis dubs the worst in MLB Pipeline Podcast history, he, Jonathan Mayo and Jason Ratliff break down the first of the 2023 organizational Top 30 Prospects lists. Against Jim's will, they do an impromptu -- and guaranteed-to-be-terrible -- ranking of the AL East and NL East farm systems, with the Orioles the clear No. 1 and the Nationals cited as the most improved. Jonathan has an interview with D-backs outfielder Druw Jones, the No. 2 pick in the 2022 Draft and the son of five-time All-Star Andruw Jones, that even Jim would have to admit is far from awful. And the guys mull which prospects qualify as both the best hitter and the best power hitter in their systems before tackling a listener mailbag question about which Top 100 Prospects Jim and Jonathan disagree about most. Terrible.

College Season Gets Underway Feb 21, 2023

They recap top prospects who performed well at MLB's Desert Invitational in Arizona, including Tennessee right-hander Chase Dollander and Grand Canyon shortstop Jacob Wilson, and other stars who got off to strong starts, such as LSU righty Paul Skenes. The top pitching prospect in this year's Draft, Dollander also sat down for an interview with Jim the day after pitching the Volunteers' opener. The guys then discuss prospects competing for jobs in Spring Training and answer a mailbag question about the top five Rookie of the Year candidates in each league.

Jonathan tals with Rockies pitching prospect Riley Pint and his decision to leave baseball before coming back. The guys review 2021 predictions about who would be the top prospects for each team in 2023 and how prescient (or not) we were and also discussed the Draft Combine, which will take place at Chase Field in June. They remembered longtime Twins scouting executive Mike Radcliff, who lost his battle with cancer last week, before wrapping up with a question from the Mailbag.
