Justin Manning: Breaking Free from Food Allergies, Travel Hacking & the Art of Food Combining May 19, 2014
    Show notes

Episode 5: Today we are joined by the one and only Justin Manning, AKA Cavemanning. Justin Manning is a certified trainer and functional movement specialist, with over 15 years of experience as a coach and personal trainer in Washington, DC. His passion for health began nearly 20 years ago, when he dealt with disordered eating and overtraining as a teenager and young adult. Over time, these problems led to adrenal fatigue, hormone dysfunction, and an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise. His own struggles eventually brought him to the Paleo diet, primal exercise, and a more simple approach to life. Along the way, he discovered travel hacking and a love for helping others - and rediscovered a healthy mind and body. Today, Justin enlightens us on how he's been able to eliminate the biggest culprits of energy, digestion and aesthetics from his diet so he can become the absolute best version of himself. If you're tired of feeling bloated and crappy all the time, listen in because Justin will tell you why it's not always from what you eat, but when you eat it. I absolutely loved this episode with Justin and I'm so pumped for you to listen in. Here's what we discuss: The eight foods that cause 90% of all food-related allergies Why eliminating the main culprits of your diet can lead to better energy and digestion A half of a cup of coconut oil is not a good idea (not joking) Why intermittent fasting is best accompanied with a stress-free lifestyle, physically and mentally Walking: the best way to connect with nature, bond with a friend or just develop your own thoughts Creating a gym routine that's fun and flexible Travel Hacking Food combining can be the key to fixing digestive problems Articles mentioned in this episode: MayoClinic- 8 Foods that Cause Allergic Reactions Example food combining chart here Chase United Airlines Check out CaveManning's website here: http://cavemanning.com/ [Tweet "Interested in optimizing digestion by combining foods correctly? Isabel Foxen Duke: Overcoming Emotional Eating, Facing Your Fear of Weight & Defining Beauty Apr 30, 2014
    Show notes

Episode 3: In this episode, I speak with Isabel Foxen Duke AKA one of the smartest most down-to-earth females in the health coaching world. Isabel Foxen Duke helps women stop being crazy about food and weight. She is a certified health coach and emotional eating expert. She teaches women how to make choices around food effortlessly, without obsessing, counting every calorie and/or binge-eating in the middle of the night. She knows that all women can have the lives they dream about (the ones they think they’ll get once they’re thin enough). For more articles, visit www.IsabelFoxenDuke.com and download How To Not Eat Chocolate Cake. I had tons of questions for her, but here's a run down of what we cover in this episode: Isabel's past relationship with food, binge eating, and body image and how she developed food freedom Where intuitive eating can go wrong Why food restrictions create a desire to rebel The huge correlation between emotional eating and the fear of weight gain The two primary categories of body image problems that need to be resolved How insecurity is dressed up like a "fat" feeling, and why you need to commit to confronting that feeling (cause you're not actually fat). Challenging the social norm in the media The importance of surrounding yourself by people of all shapes and sizes and learning to compliment them. Matt Stone: Creating a High Metabolic Rate, Eating With Instinct & the Importance of Rest Apr 17, 2014
    Show notes

Episode 2: Today I have the absolute pleasure to talk with Matt Stone about the pitfalls of being too health-obsessed and why you could be leading your body down a very dangerous road. Matt also tells us how you can build your metabolism back up so you too can be a functioning human being once more! Within this episode you'll learn how you can eat the foods you love, feel better than ever before, and exercise for enjoyment. Matt Stone is an independent health researcher, #1 Amazon bestselling author of more than 15 books, and the founder of 180DegreeHealth, a controversial website that has challenged the status quo on health with a combination of cutting-edge science and radical common sense since 2006. In his books, Stone lays out explicit instructions for achieving a high metabolic rate, the details of which are his greatest discovery in his decade of intensive research. With an increase in metabolic rate, thousands of his readers and clients have reported improvements in a vast array of disorders: constipation, hair loss, low libido, acid reflux, insomnia, anxiety, cold hands and feet, frequent urination, allergies, skin conditions, chronic infections, infertility, and countless others, all while eating common, enjoyable, comfort foods to their heart's content. In this episode we discuss: What is "Diet Recovery" The pitfalls of obsessive healthy eating & low carb diets How calories are the key to raising metabolism and becoming a functioning human being again (YOU NEED LOTS!) How you know when your body is stressed versus when it's recovering The Paleo Diet Why Poly Unsaturated Fats (PUFAs) are best avoided Learn more about Matt's work here: Go to 180DegreeHealth & receive your FREE Metabolism eCourse Like Matt's Facebook Page Follow Matt's Twitter Get some of Matt's Books HERE And here's the link to my review on Diet Recovery: http://wp.me/p3D8tt-Wo Also, PLEASE accept my apology for 32:00 and 1:04 where my dog decides to join in on the conversation with her not-so-adorable yappy bark. I would edit it out if I could but at the moment, my software can only edit so much. I'll get better at this with time, rest assured!
