    2 player game showdown!

    This episode starts out with Adrian complaining about the heat. Then, the hosts begin their weekly gameplay recap, including a Terraforming Mars Game with Jeff’s new GameTrayz, a “lovely” game of Werewolf, and a new game, Fury of Dracula. In the kickstarter section, anew abstract game called “Tao Long” is ogled at and the creators of Myth give it another try with “Myth: Dark Frontier.” In the News section, Bohanza’s 20th anniversary and a Dead of Winter version of Flick ‘Em Up, amongst other things, are discussed. The hosts decide to try something different this week and review 3 different games with something in common. This time it is in the realm of 2 player abstract games: Santorini, Patchwork, and Druids. They spend some time talking about the pros and cons of each before putting them together to find out which is the best(?). Another email closes out the show.

    For the first episode of 2017, our hosts start out talking about their New Year’s Eve and the backlog of games they have played since the last regular episode. Zach expresses his joy in finally getting some Crokinole, Jeff finally got a chance to play Le Havre, and Adrian endured a game of Bloodborne. In Kickstarter, Kingdom Death: Monster continues to make money. In a Jam-packed news section, a bunch of new games are announced, including Lovecraft letter and Fuse: Flatline. In the review of the week, 2016’s Mystic Vale is discussed. Does the game have more to it than it’s Card Crafting System? Listen and find out!     This very long episode starts out with a brief Bloody Minute from Jeff, before the weekly game sessions are recapped, including Adrian’s “lovely” time with The Oregon Trail and a rousing game of Werewolf. In the Kickstarter section, Zach finally gets a chance to own a Crokinole Board. A short news section talks about GenCon staying in Indy, and the soon to be released Doom: The Board Game. This week’s game review is Uwe Rosenburg’s newest game, A Feast for Odin, and the hosts try not to get stuffed as they mentally chow down on all the mechanics that make up this game.     The episode kicks off with the many games our hosts have played over the week, include first impressions of Feast for Odin, the continuing coverage of how great Terraforming Mars is, and Adrian’s experience at Heavy Cardboard’s game day. In the news section, A hole was dug by Cards against Humanity, because it was Black Friday, and a Terminator licensed board game was announced. They then move onto Kickstarters, mainly discussing the huge hit, Kingdom Death: Monster and Vast! The Crystal Cavern’s PayPal woes. Cry Havoc is the weekly review, where the hosts do battle on how the game’s many mechanics fit together and if it’s more than the sum of its parts.
