Show notes
Avi Vinocur is one of the primary singers and songwriters for the band Goodnight, Texas. When Avi isn’t touring the country with his band, he works with Metallica at HQ and sometimes tours with them as a crew member. Starting in 2016, Avi began occasionally performing mandolin and vocals with James Hetfield for Sammy Hagar’s benefit concerts. This led to Avi performing an entire set with Metallica for the 2018 All Within My Hands benefit at the Masonic in San Francisco. Avi is also featured on S&M2 as a vocalist during “All Within My Hands” and performed with the band recently on The Howard Stern Show.
In this episode we talk with Avi about his band Goodnight, Texas, self-producing and releasing records, The Stone Foxes, getting the job at HQ, arranging an acoustic version of Motorbreath, jamming with Kirk during The Unforgiven, Howard Stern, the All Within My Hands show and S&M2.
Songs featured in this episode are:
Goodnight, Texas - The Railroad (A Long Life of Living)
Goodnight, Texas - Submarines (A Long Life of Living)
Goodnight, Texas - Outrage for the Execution of Willie McGee (Conductor)
The Stone Foxes - Patience (Bears and Bulls)
