Melodies N’ Memories: Music Media

Hosts Jillianne & Aaron R. Shriver are proud to bring their Music Interview & Positivity podcast to listeners and viewers alike. Aaron started the podcast in 2019, inspired by his long-time love for Eric Church and being a proud member of his fan club, “The Church Choir”. Through the show, he wanted to show appreciation for music and artistry, as well as create a platform for those with a positive attitude to share their stories. Over the course of the podcast, Aaron has become friends with a few guests, all of whom come on to discuss their experiences, share stories and even perform some of their own music. As the show grows, so too have the related projects – these now include concert reviews, Live Music Photography & Videos, and a positivity-focused blog. Every Monday at 7 pm Central, tune into Melodies N’ Memories: Music Media on Facebook and YouTube and it’ll be available on all streaming services the following day. Join Jillianne and Aaron to hear from a new guest every week!

Jeremy Spillman | Songwriter & Author Apr 28, 2020

Show notes

Episode 32 – We wrap April up with another amazing songwriter, and now author Jeremy Spillman. Jeremy has had cuts by many artists including Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, LANCO, Trace Adkins, Brandy Clark, Midland, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Brantley Gilbert, Jon Pardi, Luke Bryan and many more. He just released his first book, DeVine Devils, and if you have not read this then, what are you waiting on. Jeremy proves why he is one of the elite writers out there. On top of all of that, every day of my life I look down at my left forearm and see the title to my favorite song ever. It just so happens to be one of Jeremy's. "Sinner's Like Me" is a staple and an anthem to myself and other Church Choir members. We will discuss this song, and why it will always be one of Eric Church's biggest songs.

Kentucky born and bred, Jeremy Spillman moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his dream of success as a songwriter at 24. Since then, Jeremy has had songs recorded by Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, LANCO, Trace Adkins, Brandy Clark, Midland, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Brantley Gilbert, Jon Pardi, Luke Bryan, Lee Ann Womack, Darius Rucker, and many more. Spillman’s debut novel, The DeVine Devils, is also available as a full cast audiobook and has an accompanying soundtrack. The music was written by Spillman with Nashville songwriters Randy Montana, Dean Dillon, and Clint Ingersoll. The audiobook and soundtrack were recorded, produced, and mixed by Spillman at his home studio.

Jonathan Singleton | Singer/Songwriter & 50 Egg Music Co-Founder Apr 14, 2020

Show notes

Episode 30 – I told you season 2 was going to be bigger and better. Probably one of the greatest songwriters of my time, the man who is writing the soundtrack to my life, Jonathan Singleton. I first came across Singleton in 2007, at a dive bar in Starkville, MS called Rick's Cafe. Still, to this day one of my favorite bars. This young scrappy guy was on a stool just him and his guitar belting out future #1 hits. I didn't know it at that time, but I was witnessing one of the first times if not the first, that Singleton ever opened for Eric Church. Now, 13 years later he is cranking out #1's with Luke Combs, Co-owns a publishing company, has an amazing family, and is not slowing down anytime soon. Jonathan is a powerhouse, his voice makes me think of what Angels will sound like, and the way he captures words on paper is like nothing else.

I warn you this may be my longest episode to date, we have a lot of ground to cover, and it’s been amazing watching this scrappy dude on a bar stool on Starkville, MS grow into Co-Owner of 50 Egg Music.

Show Bio:

Episode 28 – In this episode, my good friend Jason Dybvig-Pawelko joins me. I first met Jason out in Texas when the Church Choir took over for a few years back. He created a hand-built custom guitar for a fundraiser we had, and the minute I saw his craftsmanship. I was blown away. Since then I have seen a handful of his creations. He brings work to life with the design and the sound of each guitar he has made. I’m sure he has some great stories to tell too.

Ray Scott | Singer/Songwriter Mar 24, 2020

Show notes

Episode 27 - Our Special Guest for the month of March, is one of my personal favorites, Ray Scott. Ray first surfaced in 2005, around the same time I moved to Mississippi, you could hear the song "His Kind of Music" coming from every car sitting at a Red Light. The Album thou, that is what made me a Ray Scott fan, since then he has released some of the best county albums with little to no recognition. His new EP "Nowhere Near Done" is a Ray Scott Gem, staying true to the sound that has made him a niche in country music.
"Nowhere Near Done isn’t just the name of Ray Scott’s latest EP, it’s a statement. A statement to anyone who ever wrote him off forgot about him or even worse, thought he might wither away."
