Prioritizing Mavs Pipedreams: Sign Kawhi Leonard outright or trade for Bradley Beal? Jul 24, 2021

Show notes

On this episode, Dalton Trigg (@dalton_trigg) and Matt Galatzan (@Matt_Galatzan) discuss two of the biggest Dallas Mavericks pipe-dreams out there right now involving Kawhi Leonard and Bradley Beal. Even though Kawhi could miss all of next season, would it still be better to sign him outright in free agency rather than offering 'the farm' to the Wizards for Beal? Given what Marc Stein said recently, could the Kawhi thing be more than just a pipe-dream at this point? Meanwhile, in Japan, can Luka Doncic realistically lead Slovenia to a gold medal with the USA national team showing weakness and lack of chemistry? We cover all of this and much more!

This episode focuses on the Dallas Mavericks' Kristaps Porzingis situation specifically. Are there any realistic ways the Mavs could trade him right now while truly improving the roster? Could certain sign-and-trade scenarios become relevant depending on what Dallas is able to do in free agency? Given that this is KP's first fully healthy offseason, should they wait it out and try to build his trade value back up in the first half of next season?
