This weeks message is such an important one. As we journey towards wholeness our emotions can often get the better of us as we lose our ability to steward them well. No shame in this - we're human and this happens. But just because it happens it doesn't mean we shouldn't venture to improve this. Learning self control and self-regulation can change the course of our lives and improve our wellbeing and relationships too. The beauty of this as children of God is that we get to do all of this with the Lord by our side, helping us, encouraging us and chastening us so we look more like Him and less like ourselves. As I began to think about how nice it is to be romanced on valentines I began to reflect on my journey in romantic relationships. Although I hadn't always been lucky in love, I was so grateful that those journeys led me to Jesus and revealed him as my safe space. I learnt he was where I could run and hide, where I could be free, where I could be vulnerable and unashamed. It changed my life forever.
