    Show notes

How do we make women's ministry feel like it's for all generations? Amanda Mejias and Corinne Allen, cohosts of the His Glory, Her Good podcast, join us to talk about how we can bridge the gap between older and younger generations to create a flourishing intergenerational women's ministry. They talk through some of the myths of women's ministry, what barriers there are for younger women coming to small groups, and how we can cast a vision for having a range of ages and voices at the table.

Leading Well | Tips and Strategies for Effective Leadership with Cynthia Phillips Jan 27, 2025
    Show notes

We’re kicking off the new year with a leadership miniseries! You’ll hear from leaders about women in leadership working with mostly men, advice they would give to their younger selves, strategies and tools for leading well, and more.
Cynthia Phillips is the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Lifeway. In this episode, Cynthia shared tools and strategies she has used in her leadership journey, as well as her passion for ministering to blended families. She also encouraged women as they minister and witness to family members who don't share their faith. Read her list of tips below:
What encouragement would you have for the woman whose family believes differently than she does?

    1. Don’t give up.
    2. Don’t compromise on what you believe, but don’t let it get in the way of meaningful connections.
    3. Live your faith and be consistent.
    4. Pray and seek wisdom.
    5. Ask God for clarity on His role/purpose for you in/with your family.
    6. Remember that God loves them more than we do. We do our part and leave the rest to Him.

What advice would you have for a younger Cynthia on leadership?

    1. Determine your priorities.
    2. Commit to keep your priorities.
    3. Don’t work so much and make time for what is really important—you can’t get time back.

We are in a leadership series. As a woman in leadership, share some strategies or tools that help you to be an effective leader.

    1. Be real/authentic.
    2. Stay true to who you are, what you believe, and what you stand for.
    3. Seek feedback and always listen and learn.
    4. Adapt and adjust.
    5. Anticipate and be self-aware.
    6. Listen to your gut/Holy Spirit/intuition.
