Show notes
Jeremy sits down with Scott and Michele Atwood, founders of The Main Street Mouse and creators of House of Mouse Expo, for a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most beloved Disney fan events in the country. With House of Mouse Expo returning July 31 through August 2, 2026, there’s no better time to explore how it all began, how it has grown over the years, and what continues to make it such a special experience for Disney fans.
The conversation begins with Scott and Michele’s journey from Michigan to Central Florida and how their passion for Disney led them to launch The Main Street Mouse, a community that has connected Disney fans for more than a decade. From there, Jeremy dives into the origins of House of Mouse Expo, discussing the inspiration behind the event, the challenges of getting it off the ground, and how it evolved into a gathering that brings together Disney fans, creators, vendors, and special guests from around the country.
Along the way, Scott and Michele share stories from behind the scenes, including the planning, logistics, unexpected obstacles, and memorable moments that attendees rarely get to see. They also discuss the friendships and connections that have formed through the expo and why creating a welcoming, family-like atmosphere has always been at the heart of HOME.
The episode also includes a fun dream guest draft, expo superlatives, and a look ahead at what’s next for House of Mouse Expo. Whether listeners are longtime attendees, considering their first visit, or simply curious about what goes into creating a successful Disney fan event, this conversation offers a unique look at the passion, dedication, and community that continue to make House of Mouse Expo feel like HOME.
