Duplicate protection:

Opening packs: If you would open a 5th-copy of a card, it is instead replaced with a card of the same rarity that you don't have 4 copies of. If you already own 4 copies of every card in that set at that rarity, you instead get other rewards:

Mythic: 40 gems

Rare: 20 gems

Uncommon or common: Vault progress at the current rate

Limited packs: You can open (and pick) 5th-copy cards. If you do, it won't be added to your permanent collection but converted to gems or vault progress, as above.

Individual card rewards: You can still get ICRs that are 5th-copy cards, but they'll be turned into gems or vault progress, as above.

Today was the Magic Arena All-Day Ravnica Allegiance streamer event, which the three of us took part in today (#sponsored). We got to play all manner of sweet brews with the new set against other Magic Arena streamers, #sponsored, and we had a ton of fun. I would absolutely love to be a part of any future All-Day streamer events, #sponsored, so in the future what kinds of things would you like Magic and Twitch to team up to do?

The Finisher For the first time in nearly 2 years, a new episode of one of the most popular Magic podcasts of all time, Yo MTG Taps, was posted by the hosts (and our friends) Big Head Joe and Joey Pasco, discussing Arena's new prominence and Magic's competitive scene. Now, we already live in a culture that is mono-remakes, adaptations, and reboots of classic shows from ages past, but this got me thinking: if we can resurrect Yo MTG Taps, what other series from Magic past can we bring back now that Arena and the Mythic championship have entered the battlefield?

HASBRO announced plans today for its first indoor water park and family resort, themed around some of its biggest toy and game franchises. According to sources, the Hasbro resort is set to open in a currently unannounced location by 2022. Now, surely rides and installations inspired by Monopoly, Hungry Hungry Hippos, My Little Pony, Mr. Potato Head, Candy Land and Nerf are going to be fun and all, but the headliner for us obviously is Magic: The Gathering. So tell me: what is your mythic idea for HASBROLand's MTG experience?

TL;DW: New ranking system incoming, but it is still the early stage of what they want, featuring season rewards and "balanced" advancement. This system applies to limited and constructed events. New matchmaking system that changes how players are matched in ladder and non-ladder play (which is also new.) Non-Ladder matchmaking will still be based partially on "deck strength" with some fine tuning coming soon.

Edit: Patch will hit on December 13th with State of the Beta on Dec 12.

The Finisher

It was announced this week that, beginning on December 17, the microblogging and social media website Tumblr will be banning all pornography on their website. And if you don't know what Tumblr is, well, apparently you have until December 17 to find out. Several popular Magic blogs are hosted on Tumblr, including the Magic Bracket, tons of artists and cosplayers, and of course Mark Rosewater's Blogatog. So now that Tumblr will be working out the kinks, so to speak, what changes do you expect to come to Magic: The Tumblring?
