Your Goal Is Not to Get In (Ep. 188) Mar 16, 2022
    Show notes

Alyssa scored an official 134 after prepping with other companies. Now a Demon student, she is starting to understand the test better. She plans to take the March test in hopes of getting into law school this fall. Ben and Nathan strongly advise against this plan. Alyssa should allow herself adequate time to prepare and register for the official test when her practice scores indicate that she’s ready. She should also plan to apply at the beginning of the cycle.

    A 170 Just Ain’t What It Used to Be (Ep. 185) Mar 11, 2022
    Show notes

Listener Tuong-Vi has a 170 on record and a 3.85 GPA. While she is a strong applicant, her stats won’t cut it at the very top schools. Tuong-Vi has two more shots at taking the LSAT, but she doesn’t “feel like” she has the capacity to take it again. The guys push back: Lawyers do whatever it takes. If Tuong-Vi really wants to compete for a spot at a top school, she needs a better LSAT score. Nathan and Ben encourage her to check the LSAT Demon Scholarship Estimator to reveal which schools are likely to offer her scholarships.

Ben and Nathan suggest that J politely ask for an extension on the seat deposit deadline. More importantly, J should consider accepting no less than a full scholarship at any school they choose to attend.

    Show notes

New student Jess is frustrated because her scores are “decreasing.” Are they, though? Nathan calls BS. Jess has taken only three practice tests since she started studying with the Demon. There’s a lot of noise in small samples—three data points do not establish a trend. Ben and Nathan advise Jess to focus more on understanding the questions she misses.
