It's that time of year again when Marcus & Matt look back at the drama 2017 had to offer including fake beef with some A list YouTubers, being a little too merry at Vidcon and disstracks... lots and lots of disstracks. Elsewhere Marcus reveals what his target for 2017 were and whether or not he hit them as well as some of his targets for 2018. It also seems very apt that hitting our milestone of 50 episodes will be the last one released for a little while but check back in 2018 for a shiny new revamped Lower Your Expectations and who knows... maybe there will be some new segments to go with it ;)

Is that really the title? Did that really happen? Are these questions annoying?
The answer to all of those questions is "yes" and you're going to discover how and why Marcus ended up flashing his man parts to a complete stranger. Elsewhere we discuss christmas tradition, Matt's shocking first appearance in a main channel video and why the Robbie Williams song "Rock DJ" is a cringe trigger for one of the hosts.
All this and much more on this weeks Lower Your Expectations!

If you go for a night out clubbing these are a few of things you would typically expect to see: people having one too many shandies, hearing some awful music from the 2010 period (here's looking at you David Guetta) and witnessing some dodgy kebab mistakes. In Berlin, however, Marcus reveals a few of the sordid details from a particularly "unique" night at the infamous Berghain club including being propositioned for a threesome. Elsewhere Matt reveals how he was snubbed by both MC Grindah and Chabuddy G at a People Just Do Nothing masterclass at BAFTA and the boys discuss ways of not going too overboard with food and drink choices over the festive period.

Live from Hello World in Birmingham comes the Lower Your Expectations podcast where we faced the public for the first time. Helping us survive our live recording were two very special guests one being Marcus' older sister Tash who dropped in to chat about Marcus' first foray into YouTube and our second guest was Elize, a thirteen year old fan of the podcast who told us how YouTube is portrayed at school and she also helped Marcus answer a very tricky big question.

Actor, writer, stand up comedian, occasional horse rider Jack Whitehall joins us on the podcast this week which makes it very difficult for us to stick to the title of the show. In a sprawling chat we managed to cover the time Jack was spying on Marcus eating breakfast, YouTube and why Bournemouth was the scene of Jack's worst ever stand up gig. He also fills us in on his two Netflix shows "Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father" and "Jack Whitehall: At Large" what goes into filming these shows and what happened when his Father needed a massage in Bangkok.
Elsewhere Marcus reveals a story involving his best friend that is worthy of being #cute and Matt tells Jack about the time he ushered him to his seat whilst interning at a production company.

That's right, you read the title correctly we have managed to coerce the one and only Simon Kaye into appearing on an episode of Lower Your Expectations! To the uninitiated Simon is Marcus' step dad and has known him since he was twelve that meant Matt was able to extrapolate just how much of a little shit Marcus was as a teenager. We also discuss the impact Marcus' blossoming YouTube career had on his parents and whether or not they thought Marcus was making the right decision when he decided to quit university and a full time job to try YouTube.

What do you want to be when you grow up? The question we have all had and hated at one point in our lives. Marcus provides some advice on how you can internally answer this question so that the next time you're asked it you are fully prepared. This episode of Lower Your Expectations also sees the return of #askmattcus where we answer why exactly the show is called Lower Your Expectations and not Chatting Sh*t (an inspired title) all this and much much more!
