Love to See It with Emma and Claire

A snarky but affectionate dissection of the love we see on-screen – and what it says about all of us. Hosted by culture critics Emma Gray and Claire Fallon, Love To See It is a weekly podcast that recaps reality dating shows like “The Bachelor” and revisits the romantic movies that shape the way we date and love today. We laugh, we cry, we break down every juicy detail and unpack all the weird messages that pop culture sends us about love, sex, and dating.

‘Love Island’ S7e21-26: The Group Project Is Bullying w/ Leigh Blickley Jul 03, 2025
    Show notes

It’s a two-part episode this week, in both timing and tone: In the first half, Claire and Emma giddily bask in the romantic climax of Nic and Cierra’s post-Casa reunion. In the second, pod bestie Leigh Blickley joins Claire to pick up the pieces of our hopes for this season, as offscreen revelations and onscreen heel turns – especially in the brutal Stand On Business challenge in episode 26 – have sullied our longtime faves. Is there anything left to hope for this season, aside from a bombshell worthy of Amaya Papaya entering the villa? It’s not looking like it.

    ‘Love Island’ S7e15-20: Not Mamacita’s Little Meatball! w/Kelsey McKinney Jun 26, 2025
    Show notes

BFF of the pod Kelsey McKinney joins us to discuss a real rollercoaster of a week on “Love Island USA.” We start with some truly baffling eliminations – how dare they do this to Hannah??? – and then head straight into the most pain-filled Casa Amor Fiji has ever witnessed. (We feel personally victimized by some of these choices. Stop taking cues from that failed “Bachelor In Paradise” season, producers!!!) Luckily we got a hint of redemption at the end… and Nicolandria stans everywhere rejoiced.

‘Pretty Woman’ Is The Most Charming Vulture Capitalist Fairytale w/ Josh Gondelman Jun 24, 2025
    Show notes

It’s rom-com rewatch time! We head back to 1990 Los Angeles for a beautiful tale about a sex worker (Julia Roberts) being lifted up into wealth, privilege and classiness by a corporate raider with a heart of gold (Richard Gere). It’s the ultimate capitalistic fairy tale, dreaming up a ruthless investor who has amassed millions by destroying things – but who actually has a soft heart, principles, and a deep yearning to be loved. Comedian Josh Gondelman (host of the upcoming YouTube special “Positive Reinforcement”) joins for a beat-by-beat journey through the Rapunzel-Cinderella-Pygmalion Frankenstein that made Julia Roberts a star.

‘Love Island’ S7e9-14: Hurricane Huda Is A Mamacita Jun 19, 2025
    Show notes

“LOVE ISLAND USA” SEASON 7 IS CINEMA! We weren’t quite ready to commit after a week of episodes – one can’t lock in too early, you have to explore! – but after watching episodes 9-14, we’re closing off. The drama in the villa reached all-time highs, with a pancake incident pushing Huda and Jeremiah’s bond to the breaking point, a forced recoupling that prompts an epic crashout, and a newly minted couple experiencing a breakup so agonizing you’d never guess they had declared their feelings just an hour before.

News & Gossip: 2 Weddings, An ‘LIB’ Divorce, And A ‘Bachelor’ Breakup w/ Zachary Reality Jun 17, 2025
    Show notes

Bachelor Nation and Love Is Blind Land have been rocked by two major splits – including an acrimonious divorce between Lydia and Milton of “Love Is Blind” that finally closes the book on a disastrous season 5 (from which zero couples now remain). Then we discuss the entirely unsurprising split between Grant and his “Bachelor” winner Juliana, delivered anticlimactically via Instagram Stories. But it’s not all bad news! Two big “Bachelor” weddings brought the love this week. We dig into it all, plus some thoughts on the “Traitors” season 4 cast announcement.

‘Love Island’ S7e3-8: Ace Loses Face Jun 12, 2025
    Show notes

“Love Island USA” is getting juicy. Huda and Jeremiah are careening towards disaster, two new bombshells enter the villa to try to turn the men’s heads, and we have our first exit from the villa. (We’ll miss you, Belle-dasha. Sort of.) We also are getting some strong redpill vibes from certain men – cough, Ace, cough – and honestly hope that our fave gals get some new dudes in the villa to jump ship to as soon as humanly possible.

Introducing Reality Gays Jun 10, 2025
    Show notes

Jake Anthony and Matt Marr are two Southern Queens who absolutely love reality shows about lonely hearts looking for love. They recap it all on the Reality Gays podcast, including: TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé, Love is Blind on Netflix, Love After Lockup, and some other shows where the people are just hot messes looking for love.

Matt is a clinical psychologist, and Jake is a life coach and teacher. And they both are shady queens who are boggled at the insane ways some of these people search for love in this world. The only thing more certain than a K-1 Visa or a venereal disease is the fact that Jake and Matt will keep you laughing at these lovebirds while also judging their choices. But none of it is mean, because Matt and Jake get it. At the end of the day, aren’t we all just looking for our little piece of love?

Welcome To ‘Love Island USA’ S7: Fluorescent Lighting Everywhere Jun 06, 2025
    Show notes

A hot new bombshell has entered the villa: Love To See It!!! This is our first time ever covering “Love Island USA,” and the show welcomed us in with the most unhinged choreographed lip sync we could have dreamed of. In the first two episodes of season 7, Ariana Madix introduces us to the 10 original islanders (and two sexy bombshells), and they begin to form connections. They swap spit, bond over “The Alchemist,” become prematurely possessive, and hide important information from each other – all the important components of building long-lasting relationships.

‘Sneaky Links’ Makes You Ask: ‘Are Men OK?’ Jun 03, 2025
    Show notes

Before we begin our coverage of “Love Island USA” – we did a little cast preview during this episode (!!!) – we had to discuss Netflix’s latest addition to the reality romance space: “Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark.” Hosted by Chloe Veitch, the show follows pairs of people who were once each other’s “sneaky links” (a.k.a. situationships), and challenges them to explore those relationships for real – or just date another hottie who has checked into their shared motel. There’s a lot about the show that doesn’t really work. The structure is murky, the casting is meh, and the goals are confused. However, one thing that it does make clear is that the men are NOT alright.

News & Gossip: ‘LIB’ Babies, Ashley Adionser Speaks, Off-Contract ‘Bachelor’ Reveals May 29, 2025
    Show notes

In recent weeks, *a lot* has happened: Two more “Love Is Blind” babies were announced (AD and Ollie! Lauren and Cam!), Ashley Adionser gave her first interview since separating from husband Tyler Francis (of “LIB” S7), and both Peter Kraus and Cassidy Timbrooks gave candid – exceedingly off-contract – interviews about their time within “The Bachelor” franchise. So naturally, we had to hop on and discuss it all. Come for the Ashley tea, and stay for the production reveals.
