Show notes
Live from the WNBA Draft: host Jackie Powell is joined by The Next’s Emily Adler where the two discuss the winners and losers of the 2025 WNBA Draft. Hint: The California teams did very well by Adler’s standards. What about the Dallas Wings who selected Paige Bueckers No.1 overall? The Mystics? What about the Sun? Later, Jackie shares what she saw and heard that evening on the ground. And lastly Jackie gives a bunch of updates from WNBA Comissioner Cathy Engelbert’s pre-draft press conference. How are CBA negotiations going between the league and the players union? There are conflicting reports. And how will the WNBA be combating hate and vitriol after the events from last season? The Commission explained a multi-pronged approach.
