MSU football set to play Black Friday; MSU basketball in Gavitt Games vs. Butler; Would we take 8-4? May 23, 2023

Show notes

It’s schedule-palooza on today’s show as we get things kicked off with MSU football’s Black Friday date against Penn State. Do we like this new way to end the regular season, and what are some of the issues the Big Ten is having overall with these new network deals?

Also, Gavitt Games matchups have been leaked and MSU is set to take on…Butler. Why are we bummed about that, and what will the main storyline be for that game? And how will Butler even look next season?

And MSU baseball entering its first Big Ten Tournament since 2018, so that’s fun.

We then end the show with a daunting question: What record would we take for MSU football without rolling the dice? Would we take 8-4…or would we even take 7-5?

Xadavien Sims saga continues; MSU football misses on a WR transfer; Shemmy Schembechler out at UM May 21, 2023

Show notes

Over the weekend a unique development happened on the MSU recruiting trail as Xadavien Sims commits to Oregon...but schedules an official visit to Michigan State for June. How do we read that situation and what's the end game possibly?

MSU football also saw a wide receiver transfer target to elsewhere as Montana Lemonious-Craig picked Arizona after taking a visit to East Lansing. Are we worried about the receiver position going into the season?

We also do a quick check in on Jaden Akins and AJ Hoggard Watch 2K23 and look at a decision in the near future.

We then end with wondering why we are the ones doing Shemmy Schembechler background checks instead of Michigan football after he got caught attaching his name to hate speech.

Kee'Yon Stewart NOT coming to MSU football; Was Keon Coleman transfer all about money? May 19, 2023

Show notes

We kick things off with a MSU football development in the transfer portal with Kee'Yon Stewart NOT coming to Michigan State. Also, did Keon Coleman simply leave because of NIL money?

We then go through and debate whether or not we are "rooting" for Payton Thorne or Keon Coleman at their next spots, which turns into a bizarre "Storytime With Matt" session.

Also, what Spartan Stadium upgrades do we want to see, upper deck vs. end zone seats and more from the mailbag!

MSU football lands DT Jalen Sami; Is Tom Izzo to the Phoenix Suns real?; Thank you MSU basketball May 18, 2023

Show notes

MSU football landed a big transfer portal commit in defensive tackle Jalen Sami out of Colorado. What does the former Buff bring to Michigan State and where does he stack up amongst the guys already in the defensive line room?

We also look at how serious the "Tom Izzo to the Phoenix Suns" talk is, look at the odds and think why he would even want to in the first place.

We then hit on a few mailbag questions from Mel Tucker's social media to how many Melting Moments can we throw down in one sitting during a football game.

And to end the show...thank you MSU basketball. Just thank you.

We also go through questions on Cal Haladay, Katin Houser and whether raising a child as a MSU fan is the morally correct thing to do.
