Show notes
New Orleans Pelicans fans have reason to be fired up—Jamal Mosley is set to install a tenacious defensive identity in New Orleans, raising the team’s floor and bringing long-term stability. Can Mosley’s structured, physical defense spur improvement even with questions around Zion Williamson, Derik Queen, and Jeremiah Fears? Jake Madison breaks down the difference between Mosley’s comprehensive schemes and the Pelicans’ previous reliance on individual defenders, setting expectations for top-half defensive ranking and discussing what will make the system work.
Key topics include the development of young cornerstones Jeremiah Fears and Derick Queen, their growth areas, and how incremental improvement could reshape the Pelicans’ future. Madison also addresses recent relocation rumors, celebrating New Orleans’ commitment with a new long-term lease for the Smoothie King Center. Discover why this season is about more than wins—it's about building a foundation, solidifying star roles, and ensuring NBA basketball remains in New Orleans for years to come.
