Locked On Denver Nuggets - 7.4 - A farewell to Wilson Jul 04, 2018

Show notes

In this episode, I go over the details of the trade that sent Wilson Chandler and a pair of 2nd round draft picks to Philadelphia. I explore what this means for Denver’s bench, their defense, and their salary cap going forward. I also share some notes from today’s summer league mini-camp practice including the quick study of Thomas Welsh and the surprise dominance of Kenrich Williams.

Lastly, I talk off of the cuff about Wilson Chandler, a player I have been a fan of for many years. In a sort of send-off type soliloquy, I wonder about the way we consume NBA analysis and ask in what ways it helps us enjoy the game more at the expense of players like Wilson Chandler. Most of all, I share why enjoyed waching him play, even if he wasn’t always perfect.

In the final segment of the show, I discuss Will Barton getting interest from the Pacers, Torrey Craig's reporter qualifying offer, and Michael Porter Jr. meeting some of the staff and his teammates.

Locked on Denver Nuggets - 6.22 - Game Change Jun 22, 2018

Show notes

In this episode, I break down Denver's draft and gush about the upside of Michael Porter Jr. I take you behind the scenes at Pepsi Center and share how stunned everyone in the local media was to see him fall to Denver at 14. I talk about the back surgery and the injury concerns that caused him to fall in the draft. I go over his strengths and weaknesses as a player and discuss why sitting out a year might be the best move for him.

I also talk about Jarred Vanderbilt, the sneaky great pick of the night and a player who brings many of the best Kenneth Faried qualities without some of the Manimal's negatives.
