Mets Trade RUMORS: Ketel Marte is ON the Block | Kodai Senga Drawing 'Buy-Low' Trade Interest Nov 11, 2025

Show notes

The New York Mets could be eyeing a blockbuster move as Ketel Marte hits the trade block, potentially slotting between Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto in a dream lineup.

The Arizona Diamondbacks' All-Star second baseman, who finished third in MVP voting in 20234, brings elite production at a discount—$92 million remaining through 2030 represents exceptional value for baseball's best at his position.

With Arizona motivated to move him before his full no-trade clause kicks in mid-April, the window for acquiring the switch-hitting superstar is narrow.

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down what a competitive trade package might look like, discussing prospects like Brandon Sproat, Jett Williams, and Christian Scott. He examines how Marte's acquisition could reshape the Mets' roster construction, potentially affecting Pete Alonso's future in Queens.

The episode also covers Kodai Senga drawing trade interest, Jose Rojas signing a minor league deal, and Andy Martino's latest intel on the Alonso situation, challenging narratives about David Stearns' intentions.

Discover how the Mets could transform their lineup with this potential game-changing acquisition and what it means for their championship aspirations.

How Do the Mets FIX Their Defense? | David Stearns' Focused on Run PREVENTION This Offseason Nov 10, 2025

Show notes

The New York Mets' defensive struggles in 2024 weren't just about Pete Alonso at first base—the real culprit was Mark Vientos at third, who posted the worst defensive metrics relative to playing time.

This episode breaks down where the Mets' run prevention truly failed and reveals surprising solutions for the offseason.

Host Ryan Finkelstein analyzes defensive metrics across the roster, exposing how playing guys out of position—particularly Vientos at third and Jeff McNeil in center—tanked the team's defense more than Alonso's first base play.

With Francisco Lindor underperforming his usual defensive standards and Juan Soto struggling in right field, the path forward requires strategic roster moves.

Finkelstein explores potential fixes, including Ryan O'Hearn as an underrated first base option, Wilson Contreras trade scenarios, and why keeping Brett Baty and Ronnie Mauricio at third base could transform the infield defense.

The discussion covers David Stearns' offseason priorities, center field solutions from Harrison Bader to Carson Benge, and whether moving Soto to DH makes sense at age 27.

Discover the data-driven blueprint for fixing the Mets' defense without sacrificing offensive firepower—listen now for the complete breakdown.

REPORT: Mets EXPECTED to Let Pete Alonso Walk & Trade McNeil | Are They Ready to TURN the Page? Nov 09, 2025

Show notes

The Pete Alonso free agency rumors are swirling again, but are the New York Mets really planning to let their franchise cornerstone walk?

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down a Sports Illustrated report claiming the Mets want a clubhouse culture shift by trading Jeff McNeil and letting Alonso leave unless he accepts a team-friendly deal. The problem? The source is a rival NL scout, not anyone inside the Mets organization.

Finkelstein examines whether first base defense is truly the issue David Stearns referenced when discussing "run prevention," or if positions like right field (Juan Soto), center field (McNeil), and third base (Mark Vientos) were bigger defensive liabilities.

He explores potential alternatives including Cody Bellinger, Willson Contreras, and Alex Bregman, weighing how each would impact the roster and clubhouse dynamics.

The analysis reveals why replacing Alonso's 30-40 home run production isn't as simple as it seems, and why the Mets may ultimately keep their slugging first baseman.

Get the full breakdown on Pete Alonso's future and the Mets' offseason strategy in this episode of Locked On Mets.
