New York Mets face a pivotal challenge: can they maximize Juan Soto’s prime and finally build a championship-caliber roster?
Ryan Finkelstein explores the complexities of surrounding Soto with star talent, evaluating the weak upcoming free agent classes and weighing the long-term roles of Francisco Lindor, Bo Bichette, and emerging prospects AJ Ewing and Carson Benge.
The conversation spotlights key decisions about Soto’s future in the outfield, the potential value of making him a full-time DH akin to David Ortiz, and the urgent need to protect his bat for sustained success.
With the Mets’ core taking shape around Lindor, Bichette, Soto, and promising young players, Finkelstein questions whether internal development or strategic trades will provide the next homegrown star.
Can New York build the right supporting cast and capitalize on this win-now window before free agency options dry up?
Get the latest analysis on roster construction, trades, and the blueprint for a Mets resurgence.
