Show notes
LSU’s rough stretch continues.
The Tigers dropped the series finale to Sacramento State 6-1 at Alex Box Stadium, and while Sunday’s loss by itself isn’t catastrophic, it’s the bigger trend that has people concerned. LSU’s pitching was solid all weekend, but the offense has completely stalled over the last two weeks.
William Schmidt turned in a strong outing with 8 strikeouts over 5.2 innings, but defensive miscues and a quiet lineup allowed Sacramento State to capitalize. LSU managed just one run, no extra-base hits, and went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
In this episode, we break down:
Why LSU’s offense has gone ice cold
The defensive mistakes that turned small problems into big innings
Why Schmidt’s outing deserved a better result
How much this recent stretch could hurt LSU’s postseason résumé
Whether Tuesday’s game vs. Creighton is a critical “get right” opportunity
It’s not time to panic yet—but the Tigers need the bats to wake up soon.
