Show notes
Utah Jazz eye a bold offseason move: Should Austin Reaves become their next franchise cornerstone? With max cap space at their disposal, David Locke explores why handing Reaves a massive contract could elevate Utah’s backcourt and accelerate their rebuild alongside Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George.
Key discussions center on Reaves’ elite status as a pick-and-roll playmaker, his points-gained impact, and the complexities of NBA cap management. The episode breaks down the current free agent landscape, Jazz roster choices, and why keeping their powder dry at the trade deadline preserves flexibility for a major acquisition. Is pairing Markkanen with Reaves enough to shift Utah from lottery regulars to playoff contenders? David Locke analyzes all the angles, offering strategic insight and asking whether the Lakers could lose a rising star to the Jazz’s ambitious plan.
