Cleveland Browns hire Ken Dorsey as new Offensive Coordinator Jan 29, 2024

Show notes

The Cleveland Browns after a thorough search have agreed to terms with Ken Dorsey to be their new offensive coordinator. Dorsey after years with the Carolina Panthers was most recently the Buffalo Bills OC but was let go after a slow start in the '23 season. The slow start apparently wasn't because of Dorsey's doing.

In 2022 the then Bills offense was firing on all cylinders with the passing game and the running game. The Bills top two receivers combined for 2.300 yards and featured solid production from the tight end and running backs in the passing game. They ran the ball at a very high yards per carry.

Dorsey's time was cut short in '23 but apparently that was because of a bad call from those that Dorsey had to answer to.

Cleveland Browns hire Duce Staley to coach RB's Jan 25, 2024

Show notes

The Cleveland Browns have hired Duce Staley to be their new running backs coach. Staley, who will turn 49 in February has coached running backs in Philadelphia, Detroit, ans Carolina. He was also at one point assistant head coach for all three franchises.

We talk the unique situation of the Browns running back room and just what exactly Coach Staley will be working with.

The Browns run game finished 12th in the NFL in 2023 which does not seem to bad considering all the injuries but the goal is to get it back to top five where it has always been under the Kevin Stefanski regime.

Browns General Manager Andrew Berry s End of year Press Conference thoughts Jan 24, 2024

Show notes

Thoughts on Andrew Berry's end of season press conference, trying to look at the whole season as opposed to the unfortunate ending. Rehab progress of Chubb and Watson. How extending head coach Kevin Stefanski is something he wants done.

Bill Callahan could be in a spot to join his son Brian in his first head coaching job, but he has a solid offensive line already in Cleveland and gets paid very well to coach that group. If he were to go, the Browns would survive at the position.

Tommy Rees is your new tight ends coach, a young man who's rising the coaching ladder quickly. He gets one of the games best to work with and could get some new blood in that room as well to hone his skills.

Are The Browns Offensive Changes Coming A Year Too Late Jan 19, 2024

Show notes

The OBR's Pete Smith joins the show to talk all the coaching changes coming to the offensive side of the ball for the Cleveland Browns, and there is a question of is this coming a year later than maybe it should of have.

Saturday's playoff games bring the two upstart teams against both #1 seeds and both young teams should fair well but might be a year away from winning games like these.

On Sunday Tampa against Detroit should have some offensive fireworks and could be a game that the team with the ball last wins.

Chiefs-Bills once again is just buckle up and watch football.

Cleveland Browns aren't looking to hire a Stefanski buddy as Offensive Coordinator Jan 18, 2024

Show notes

The talks surrounding the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator search seem to be connecting dots, which just seems wrong. The offense needs to find another level, so the search should be for someone outside of Kevin Stefanski's coaching family tree.

Greg Newsome, could once again have his name in the trade market, but this team it would be about his positive play and whether or not the Browns could retain him long term.

The team should consider Chase Young on a one year deal, giving him the chance to prove he's still that guy before cashing in the following off-season.

Cleveland Browns: 3 Bold Predictions for the offense Jan 18, 2024

Show notes

With the Cleveland Browns coaching changes on the offensive side ball on Wednesday it shows a very similar plan to what they did on the defensive side in the 2023 off-season.

With bringing in a new offensive coordinator means the Browns will give the offense the spending spree they did with the defense last year.

A wide receiver like Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr, or Calvin Ridley will certainly be guys the Browns will be willing to pay.

Tony Pollard would be a running back that would fit perfectly in Cleveland's backfield.

Trade Jedrick Wills and put Dawand Jones at left tackle, the team just saw this past season that having high paid tackles doesn't have to be the recipe.

Cleveland Browns moving on from long time assistant coaches Jan 17, 2024

Show notes

The Cleveland Browns have let go off running backs coach Stump Mitchell and tight ends coach T.C. McCartney. It is also believed that offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt is out as well.

These moves shouldn't come as shocks the Browns offense overachieved in many ways in 2023. The offense still had issues it's had during all four years of the Kevin Stefanski regime.

If these coaches had been performing well the Cleveland brass wouldn't be moving on from them they would be watching other franchises promote them.

Assessing the Cleveland Browns impending Free Agents Jan 15, 2024

Show notes

Discussing the nine players the Cleveland Browns signed to futures/reserve contracts, familiar names.

The Browns have a high number of impending free agents on their roster and yes some players have been here for a long time, there is always a bottom line of who can be paid and who can not be paid.

The Browns have some major conversations coming at several positions this off-season and the goal is simple try to build the best 53 man roster you possibly can.
