Author E.A. Jackson, pen name of Ely Jackson, is a Greek-Australian actress best known for her work in The Grand Unified Theory, The Switch, Alone on Christmas, and The Dragon Prince on Netflix. Jackson is also trained in mounted combat, archery, firearms, and swordplay, studied musical theatre in university, dance for eight years, and singing for five in addition to her work in film and television.

E.A. Jackson’s first book entitledSnake of the Nilewas released on May 31, 2022. Before you read on, you might want to watch a few of the clips from an interview I did with Raymond Ellman, the founding editor-in-chief of Inspicio Arts, an arts publication sponsored by Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts. Within these short clips, you will be introduced to my work with Holocaust survivors, a sacred legacy journal project I did for the daughter of a friend who had died, some of my educational experiences, my journaling, and more.

In 2012, I completed Room 732, my debut collection of short stories based on the Hollywood Beach Hotel. Ever since 1984, with each walk I took along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, I thought about writing this book. I never lost sight of that goal and finally cleared the space to sit down and make it happen.

After twenty years of working on my legacy journal project, I published Living and Leaving My Legacy, Vol. 1. —a legacy journal for this and future generations. In reading through 359 of my journals, I came to understand the value and impact of journaling as well as the importance of sharing the essence of who I am. I do so in the hopes that readers will look at my life as a mirror into their own. My ultimate goal is to help people understand that how we live our lives becomes our legacy.

Three madcap friends make a spontaneous decision to take a five-day break to the historic, cosmopolitan city of Istanbul, but almost from the start, things begin to go wrong. Their travel plans are put in jeopardy by a silly mistake. Their arrival is greeted with less than enthusiasm by the powers that be. The rest of their week is filled with drama, comedy, irony and, everything in between. Historic sites, thronging streets and beautiful vistas hold hidden pitfalls and all manner of escapades befall them.
Join them on their riotous journey where they encounter all kinds of events and characters that make this an unforgettable adventure.
Maisie Sullivan is the pen name of Kath Shadnia, a semi-retired teacher. Born in Islington, London, where she spent the first 40 years of her life. After leaving school she worked in administration, secretarial roles and also worked as an estate agent for many years. After the tragic death of her brother in 1990, she recognised that she felt unfulfilled.
Never having excelled at school, she decided to go back into education and studied for a degree in Business and Economics, at The University of East London. It was a proud moment when she graduated with an Honours Degree in 1993.
Shortly afterward she received a job offer for a teaching post abroad. In September 1993, with one suitcase, a one-way ticket, and sixty pounds in her pocket, she flew to the Middle East. She remained there for almost ten years.
On returning to the UK, she became a licensee but soon returned to teaching, and training teachers. She finally retired from education in 2017. She now pursues her other interests in Holistic and Complementary Therapy and her lifelong passion for writing.
Married, with two grown-up sons, she currently lives in Shropshire, with her husband and her rescue dog Ritchie.
Five Days in Istanbul is her debut novel.
