E110 - Patty Block - Helping Women Business Owners Generate More Revenue with Less Stress - What's Next for Your Business
In 2006, I created The Block Group to empower women business owners who are experts in their fields. As their trusted advisor, I bring a unique perspective, having experienced and solved many of the same complex issues we face as women, as leaders, as moms, daughters and sisters.
62% of women rely on their businesses for their primary income, yet 88% of these businesses generate less than $100,000 in annual revenue.
Having seen the same struggles time and again, I teach women how to shift their mindset and build their confidence to generate more revenue with less stress by reimagining pricing and selling.
I’m a firm believer that, when women earn more, everyone around them benefits - their staff, their family and their community.
This meaningful work allows me to fulfill my mission of turning roadblocks into building blocks for women-owned businesses.
Clients often refer to me as their “business therapist” and “secret weapon” because I form strong relationships, understand and refine their company’s internal workings, and serve as a strategic sounding board.
I’ve raised three wonderful humans and have now welcomed their partners into our family. My kids have the entrepreneurial bug too and I’m so proud of them!

E109 - Greg Cagle - How to grow a culture that embraces our unique weirdness
Greg Cagle isn’t for everyone. Some might say he’s an acquired taste. They might even say he’s one weird dude.
Over the course of his entrepreneurial career, he has started five successful businesses in industries as diverse as real estate development, engineering and tech, food services and hospitality, and advertising and marketing.
Everything he’s ever done, he’s built from ground zero. He knows what it feels like to lie awake on Tuesday night wondering how to make payroll on Friday.
As a coach and consultant, he’s come alongside the top leaders and businesses in even wider-ranging fields:

    • Army Special Operations
    • Steel and diesel engine manufacturing
    • 5-star hospitality
    • Cutting-edge technology and software
    • Non-profit educational systems and higher education
    • Financial and insurance
    • Oil and gas engineering

He has also partnered with John C. Maxwell and his company for many years as an executive coach, speaker, trainer, and business consultant.
    You’ll discover how to:

    • Know who YOU truly are at the core,
    • Leverage the power of YOU to increase your influence, and
    • Enjoy the deeply-fulfilling and satisfying life you’ve always felt was possible.

Culture can become an organization’s secret weapon or an invisible burden. The good news is that when leaders learn to shape it, they can design and deploy a culture that employees are eager to promote and protect.

E107 - Michal Stawicki - Polish Author and Coach - How Writing as a Side Hustle Led to a Change In Career Path Dec 05, 2022
    Show notes

EPISODE 107 - Michal Stawicki - Polish Author and Coach - How Writing as a Side Hustle Led to a Change In Career Path
I'm Michal Stawicki and I live in Poland, Europe. I've been married for over 19 years and am the father of two boys and one girl. I worked full time in the IT industry before becoming an author. My passions are transparency, integrity and progress.
In August 2012, I read a book called "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson. It took me a whole month to start implementing ideas from this book. That led me to reading numerous other books on personal development, some effective, some not so much. I took a look at myself and decided this was one person who could surely use some development.
In November of 2012, I created my personal mission statement; I consider it the real starting point of my progress. Over several months time, I applied several self-help concepts and started building inspiring results: I lost some weight, greatly increased my savings, built new skills and got rid of bad habits while developing better ones.
My books are not abstract. I avoid going mystical as much as possible. I don't believe that pure theory is what we need in order to change our lives; the Internet age has proven this quite clearly. What you will find in my books are:
    - detailed techniques and methods describing how you can improve your skills and drive results in specific areas of your life
    - real life examples
    - personal stories
So, whether you are completely new to personal development or have been crazy about the Law of Attraction for years, if you are looking for concrete strategies, you will find them in my books. My writing shows that I am a relatable, ordinary guy and not some ivory tower guru.

E105 - Stephanie Wilson - A Trip Around the World, Homelessness and Finding Yourself
    Meet Stephanie
Stephanie Wilson believes storytelling can save lives. Her MBA and over a decade of artistic training both help her live out that passion.
Stephanie resides in New York City’s Upper West Side with her scruffy Puerto Rican street dog, Luna.
The Book: Big Waves & Wooden Benches: A True Story
Well, if you’re Stephanie Wilson, you sell all your earthly possessions and set sail around the world for 115 days seeking answers. But big adventures often end with bigger questions, and sometimes truly finding yourself requires the courage to further surrender into the signs and synchronicities.
From big waves on the horizon, pregnant with seemingly endless possibility, to wooden benches in NYC parks portending gloom and despair, Stephanie’s journey of divining the omens and learning how to trust her own quiet knowing, especially against the false sense of stability in the world around her, will resonate deeply with any reader who has ever had the scary and sinking feeling that there must be more to life—along with the will to find the answer.

Currently, I have three podcasts: My first podcast, The Fun with Friends Podcast, my summer break podcast, What Ya Streamin’?, and my latest podcast, The Wandering Creatives Podcast. I’m so very proud of every one of my podcasts because I never thought it was something that I would be doing and enjoy so much.

E102 - Meredith Tutching - Forest of Reading - Canada's Largest Recreational Reading Program - Inspiring Students to Find Joy in Reading Nov 26, 2022
    Show notes

    EPISODE 102 -
In this episode of Living The Next Chapter, I have a conversation with about The Forest of Reading - an initiative to put the joy back into reading for Ontario Students and beyond!
The Forest of Reading is Canada’s largest recreational reading program! This initiative offers ten reading programs to encourage a love of reading in people of all ages. The Forest helps celebrate Canadian books, publishers, authors and illustrators. More than 270,000 readers participate annually from their school and/or public library. All Canadians are invited to participate via their local public library, school library, or individually.
The Forest of Reading Award Programs are where children and young adults pick the winner! Readers choose a program that they would like to be a part of, usually based on their age or grade, and simply begin reading! They can read all ten of the titles, or pick and choose to read only the ones they are interested in. Participants are encouraged to read at least five of the ten titles to be eligible to vote in April. This program aims to encourage a genuine and life-long love of reading among readers of all ages.
Goals of the Forest of Reading
Love of reading: Create a meaningful experience for your readers and give exciting opportunities for reluctant readers to become lifelong readers.
A proven head start: The results are in! Children who read for fun have higher literacy scores, have more success in science and math, and are more socially and civically engaged (Reading for Joy, P4E, 2011).
Libraries at centre stage: With fun activities, prizes and more, the Forest of Reading puts libraries at the heart of the action!
Reading Canadian: Help support and celebrate Canadian books, publishers, authors and illustrators by taking advantage of the Forest’s curated, all-Canadian reading lists for all ages and levels.
What is the Forest of Reading?
The Forest of Reading® is Canada’s largest recreational reading program! This initiative of the Ontario Library Association (OLA) offers eight reading programs to encourage a love of reading in people of all ages. The Forest helps celebrate Canadian books, publishers, authors and illustrators. More than 250,000 readers participate annually from their School and/or Public Library. All Canadians are invited to participate via their local public library, school library, or individually.
When did the Forest of Reading begin?
The program began with the Silver Birch® award in 1993 (Grades 4 – 6) and over the next decade programs were continually added as they attracted the attention of principals, school boards and public libraries across Ontario.
For authors/illustrators and publishers, the exposure to their books is immense. In the 1990s the individual tree programs had their own small ceremonies with hundreds of kids in Toronto. In 2007, OLA teamed up with the International Festival of Authors to create the Festival of Trees and present all awards in one location. This is now the largest children’s literary event in Canada. In 2015, the Toronto Festival and satellite Forest events were attended by 20,000 young readers.

    EPISODE 101 -
Kristina Lucia Andrews - Handmade Crochet Characters and Accompanying Children's Story Book
Combining her talents to create gorgeous handmade crochet creations with her book to bring these characters to life!
Kristina Lucia is an artist, creator, and author who ignites the imaginations of children and their parents through her limited edition animals and touching storybooks. Her humble beginnings in a small farm town (there was only one traffic light!) sparked her creativity at a young age and her adopted home of New York City keeps her inspired daily. Curiously Curated Creations of Kristina Lucia features a magical array of warm, cuddly and comforting creatures along with storybooks that help parents and kids
improve their communication and deepen their relationships.
Whether she is strutting down Fifth Avenue in Manolos or curled up on her sofa in slipper socks, Kristina is ready to create a masterpiece. Her crochet hooks and knitting needles are always within reach to whip up anything from stuffies to baby sweaters, while her kitchen table is often covered with her watercolor paints and brushes or freshly baked cookies.
After an injury forced her to reconsider her 100-mile-an-hour corporate career, Kristina realized her true path: to be the artist she was meant to be. The door of Curiously Curated Creations of Kristina Lucia opened upon her receiving a sign from her Mom. The journey began in November 2019.
Kristina is also a competitive dancer, an avid reader, and travel buff. When she is not working, you can find her in the studio dancing her cha cha, with her nose in a book, or exploring a new destination.
