On this episode of the podcast, Tayson sits down with Brigham to discuss the new Outdoor Vitals wind jacket: The Nebo Windbreaker. Wind chill is one of the most underrated & fastest forces to make you feel cold - naturally causing you to want to throw on a bunch more layers! But extra insulation is bulky to pack, & can actually cause you to overheat while you're still hiking or moving! You'll go straight from being too cold to too hot!
OR you can throw on one 4 oz windbreaker that takes up next to no space in your pack! The Nebo Windbreaker is built to keep you warm by stopping wind chill, while staying breathable enough to keep hiking without overheating!

On this episode of the Live Ultralight Podcast, Tayson (Outdoor Vitals Founder) sits down with Brigham (Outdoor Vitals Lead Designer) to go in-depth on OV's new sleeping pad: The Oblivion Sleeping Pad.

Oblivion Description: Getting good sleep on the trail isn't a "bonus" in the backcountry. It's absolutely necessary for your mind to be alert and for you to be fully present during your adventures, and a comfortable sleeping pad is one of the most important items to help you get the rest you need.
The Oblivion Sleeping Pad is a more comfortable 3 season pad that will help you sleep better in the outdoors without carrying extra weight! The 3-inch thick tufted I-beam cushion construction will keep your shoulders and hips off the ground whether you're a side sleeper or if you sleep on your back.
So what about insulation? Multi-layer reflective insulation gives the pad an R-Value of 3.5 (ASTM R-value Standard) - perfect for 3 season adventures! But we didn't stop there. We've added a reflective top fabric to help you retain as much of your own body heat as possible!
What this means is that you get a sleeping pad that's warmer, more comfortable, & lightweight! You can sleep better in the backcountry without having to carry extra pounds with you!
Elina is a filmmaker, adventure guide, and thru-hiker from Auckland, New Zealand, also known by the trail name "Tip Tap". In 2019, she thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and documented her experience on YouTube, then followed that adventure up by hiking the length of New Zealand via the Te Araroa Trail, and recently released a video of her and her brothers hiking the famous Japanese pilgrimage route, Kumano Kodo. At the time of this recording, Elina has over 67,000 subscribers on YouTube, and she's received much praise for her unique, honest, calm, and almost dream-like style that can be found in her videos.

Jeff Garmire is a highly accomplished backpacker. At just 32 years old, and during the recording of this podcast, he holds the Colorado Trail FKT (fastest-known time), has the speed record for climbing Costa Rica's tallest Mountain: Cerro Chirripo, and has completed the Calendar Year Triple Crown (AT, PCT, CDT in one year). His trail name is "Legend"; needless to say, it's a name that fits. Today we'll talk to him about his adventures and accomplishments, and try to gain some insight into what it takes to do what seems impossible to other backpackers.

On this episode of the Live Ultralight Podcast, Tayson sits down to talk with Paul Ferraro to discuss his many long, long walks to raise money for Navy Seals:
After a successful 30-year career in the tech industry, Paul Ferraro retired in 2014 and set his sights on walking across the United States from Virginia to California to raise money for the Navy SEAL Foundation. This 3,121-mile effort earned him recognition from both CNN and Fox News, along with many other local news outlets as he worked to complete the journey in 2015. In addition to the Walk Across America, he's made a trek from Ireland to Rome (2000 miles), walked the Camino de Santiago from France to Santiago, Spain (500 miles), and claims the most challenging walk of his life was from Miami to Key West (140 miles in 3 days). We hope you enjoy this inspiring conversation.
