    Live, Laugh, Larceny

Live, Laugh, Larceny is true crime for people who think most true crime is a little too murdery.

Every Wednesday, hosts Amanda Rose and Trevin Bartee share real stories of ridiculous, low-stakes crimes — from dumb criminals and pett revenge to absurd real-life chaos — told with dramatic seriousness and comedy-first energy.

    No murders. Just bad decisions.

Take a break from the heavy and get petty.

EP 160: The Horrors of Hosting May 22, 2024
    Show notes

Stock up on snacks, prep those party games, and make sure your guest list is tight—because this week, we’re diving into The Horrors of Hosting. In this hilariously chaotic episode, Trevin gets flustered by the unexpected views of Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker on masculinity, prompting a personal reflection on toxic masculine ideals from his past. Meanwhile, Amanda’s adventure at the Kansas City Zoo takes a funny turn as she finds herself awkwardly yelling a child’s name, making her feel like she’s in a wildlife call contest.
During our Would You Rather segment, Amanda faces the tough decision between going viral for an ugly mugshot or a belligerent dashcam video, while Trevin has to decide if he’d prefer an orgasm every time he hears Smashmouth’s “All Star.” Yes, things get that weird.
Then, we close out the episode with two unforgettable stories about the real horrors of hosting. Trevin tells the story of Jessica Robertson, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln student who discovers her beloved PBR beer robbed with—wait for it—a fork! Amanda wraps it up with the wild story of Deborah Romero, a Florida mom planning a two-year-old’s birthday bash that ends in chaos when 70-year-old Charles Wortuba unplugs the bounce house, leading to police involvement and party mayhem.
    Today’s Stories:
The Dangers of Being Left Out
    Bringin’ Down the House
Prepare to laugh, cringe, and take notes—this episode is a masterclass in what not to do when hosting a party.

    EP 158: Amanda’s Toxic Birthday Mother’s Day! May 08, 2024
    Show notes

It’s a double celebration this week on Live, Laugh, Larceny – it’s our Mother’s Day episode AND Amanda’s birthday is tomorrow! So bow down and worship this woman! In this hilarious and chaotic episode, Trevin is coming to terms with a shocking transformation: Is he becoming a morning person? Peaceful, lamp-lit mornings now remind him of his late bluegrass-singing grandma, who passed away last year. While reflecting on these cozy mornings, Trevin starts to wonder if he's inheriting her early riser ways. Meanwhile, Amanda’s dilemma this week is a bit more unsettling. After dealing with a strange security salesman who kept asking to use her bathroom multiple times, Amanda might be upgrading her home security – fast.
In Two Truths and a Lie, Trevin serves up fun facts about reality TV, including the Kardashians, kidney transplants, music at the movies, and The Bachelor. Amanda’s round features wild events from her birthday, May 9th – including Billy Joel, birth control, and Pop-Tarts. You won’t believe what happened on her big day!
Then, Trevin shares his first personal story in years, recounting a bizarre date with a woman who isn’t quite what she seems, complete with some major family drama. Amanda follows up with a jaw-dropping Mother's Day story about a Boston mama's boy, Zachary Tentoni, who left behind his birth certificate and a letter from his toxic mother at the scene of a robbery. You can’t make this stuff up!
Both stories hilariously revolve around toxic family dynamics, proving once again that moms and birthdays make for unforgettable chaos. Tune in for awkward dating stories, security salesman creeps, and a Mother's Day you won’t soon forget!

    A Questionable Date
    Mama’s Letter

Ancient panties, forbidden melodies, and independent artists; this episode is sure to change your life. This week, Trevin finally watches the Twilight series for the first time while Amanda is having a sad fountain dilemma. Killer Facts teaches us about King Tut's undergarments and the self-defense properties of moth genitals. Then, the crew tells two stories that may just be music to your ears.
