A small village like Riverside thrives when you have people dedicated to giving back to the community. Luckily, we have that in spades here in Riverside and my guest today is another great example.

Aberdeen Marsh-Ozga's advocacy for Riverside is apparent through her involvement in numerous Riverside-related organizations & projects. She also recently became the Board Chair of Visit Oak Park, a regional tourism agency that helps market Riverside as a covered community.

In our conversation, we discuss Aberdeen's roots in Michigan and how her family found their way to Riverside, her work on Riverside's Preservation Commission, her involvement with the Olmsted Society, and her new role as the Board Chair of Visit Oak Park. Rory Dominick - Rory & Co. & Cameron Can Feb 06, 2018

Adversity is part of life and the only part we can control is how we handle it. It is clear to me, based on our recent conversation, that our neighbor Rory Dominick only knows one way to handle adversity and that is to tackle it head on.

Rory is a real estate agent & owner of Rory & Co., a real estate practice that specializes in helping buyers & sellers in the western suburbs of Chicago. In addition to her work in real estate, Rory is also the executive director of the Cameron Can Foundation which helps support families of special needs children battling neurological diseases.

In our conversation, we discuss Rory's roots in Michigan and her background in advertising, how she found her way to real estate when she was ready to start a family, and how navigating her family's challenges raising a special needs child led her to start the Cameron Can foundation to pay it forward to other families in need.

On Saturday, February 3rd from 6 to 9 pm, Riverside Public Library, in partnership with Riverside Foods, will host Reading Between the Wines, a wine tasting fundraiser to support the Library's Lower Level renovation campaign.

Courtney Greve Hack is a Riverside Library Board Trustee. She came on the podcast to give you the scoop on the upcoming event on February 3rd and share the details about the Library's Lower Level renovation campaign. I previously knew Ben through his service as our Village President but I didn't know about his diverse background & skill set including his work as an attorney, psychotherapist, and author. And that's before we even mention his current business where he is the owner & Captain of Fairwind Sail Charters.
