Ty Gipson has lived that question — diagnosed with brittle Type 1 diabetes at age eight, he went on to survive three major transplant surgeries while building a thriving business and raising a family. In this episode, Ty shares the remarkable story of receiving a kidney from his mother at age 30, fighting through dialysis while running a 45-person company, and ultimately receiving his wife's kidney after she turned out to be a perfect match. Through each trial, Ty forged his "No Options" mindset — a practical three-step framework for pushing through adversity. The framework breaks down into three simple pairs: grow or die (what we do), hope or despair (how we think), and humor or drama (how we talk). Ty explains why "just think positive" is an empty platitude and why taking smaller mental bites is the real key to building resilience.
